AREWA Online Journalist Forum Mourns the Death of Former President Muhammadu Buhari
The AREWA Online Journalist Forum wishes to extend its deepest condolences to the family of the late President Muhammadu Buhari, the government and people of Katsina State, the Northern region, and the entire Nigerian nation following the passing of the elder statesman.
Former President Muhammadu Buhari was a symbol of discipline, integrity, and patriotism whose leadership left a lasting imprint on the political and moral fabric of Nigeria. From his days as a military Head of State to his two-term civilian presidency, Buhari consistently demonstrated an unwavering commitment to the unity, security, and progress of the nation.
In a statement signed by the Forum’s Secretary General, Comrade Alh. Sani Ahmad Zangina, the group described Buhari’s death as a monumental loss to Northern Nigeria and the country at large.
“President Buhari was more than a leader he was a national figure whose service to Nigeria defined an era of reform, accountability, and national identity. His legacies, especially in the areas of anti-corruption, infrastructure development, and national security, will continue to shape our democratic experience for years to come,” the statement read.
The forum acknowledged his efforts to restore trust in public service, uplift the common man, and promote regional development in the North and beyond.
As media professionals and watchdogs of society, the AREWA Online Journalist Forum recognizes and honors the contributions of late President Buhari to national development, transparency in governance, and defence of Nigeria’s territorial integrity.
The Forum prays that Almighty Allah (SWT) grants him eternal rest, forgives his shortcomings, and blesses him with Aljannatul Firdaus. We also pray for comfort and strength for his family, the people of Daura and Katsina, and all Nigerians during this time of grief.
May his legacy continue to inspire generations of leaders.
