On 9th of December 2025, International Anti-corruption Day, Juritrust Centre for Socio-legal Research and Documentation, supported by The MacArthur Foundation, gathered a vital force: young leaders committed to integrity. Convening under the global theme, "Unite with Youth Against Corruption,"
Our roundtable wasn't about textbook theoriesโit was about real-world action. Moderated by former DG, ECOWAS Inter-Governmental Action Group against Money Laundering in West Africa, Prof. Abdullahi Shehu, we centered the discussion on several critical pillars, such as:
* Inclusive Accountability: Driving youth-led civic monitoring, and
* Safe Reporting: Strengthening whistleblower protection and secure channels for young people.
The youth-led organizations present didn't just share knowledge; they laid bare the real challenges of demanding accountabilityโfrom government, from businesses, and from themselves. The greatest success of the day was the fusion of energy and purpose. Young, passionate individuals, often working in small groups, finally met their counterparts. They crossed paths, cross-pollinated strategies, and built the bridges necessary to forge new, powerful partnerships.
At Juritrust Centre, our commitment is clear: We will continue to guide and mentor this generation. We will ensure every young person is equipped with the right information, the essential tools, and the vital network to realize a better, more sustainable societyโa society worthy of their passion.
