THE MAKING OF GREATNESS: HOW PAIN PRODUCES TRUE ANOINTING || APOSTLE JOSHUA SELMAN
Listen carefully, dear people of God… In this Kingdom, greatness does not happen by chance. It is not conferred by titles, neither is it achieved by mere desire. Greatness is made. It is the product of dealings deep, painful dealings that birth a man God can trust.
When you see a man that truly carries the anointing, do not be quick to admire the crown until you have understood the story behind the scars. There is a story of fire, a story of crushing, a story of tears, and a story of endurance that produced that fragrance you now celebrate.
Let me tell you this pain, in the hands of God, is not a weapon of destruction; it is an instrument of construction. Every time God wants to make a man mighty, He introduces him to pain. Pain becomes the school where pride dies, where self is broken, and where the heart becomes usable.
Moses was mighty in words and in deeds, yet God could not use him until the wilderness emptied him. Forty years of silence was God’s system of stripping. Joseph had a dream of greatness, yet the journey to the throne passed through a pit, Potiphar’s house, and a prison. David was anointed in his father’s house, yet processed in the cave of Adullam.
Child of God, listen to me… before the throne, there will always be a cave. Before glory, there will always be groaning. Before power, there must be pain. The anointing is not oil in a bottle; it is the residue of broken men who have died to themselves.
There is a version of you that cannot host God. So God allows betrayal to train your heart, rejection to build your dependence, and delay to strengthen your patience. You are praying, “Lord, use me,” and Heaven is replying, “Let Me break you.” Because until the self dies, the Spirit cannot live through you.
I wish I could tell you that the process is easy. No, it is not. You will cry, and still have to worship. You will be misunderstood, yet you must remain faithful. You will see doors close, yet keep believing. And in that place of crushing, you will learn that true anointing is not about preaching, it is about becoming.
There is no greatness without the dealings of God. Every man you see manifesting power today check them, they are products of secret tears. The secret to sustained anointing is sustained brokenness. The moment you outgrow your process, you outgrow your usefulness.
Beloved, don’t waste your pain. Don’t waste your seasons of crushing. Stay there until God finishes His work in you. Because when the dealings are done, when the fire has refined you, you will come out as gold pure, usable, and trusted by Heaven.
And hear me, when that time comes, men will look at you and not see your scars; they will see the glory. But the glory is only sustained by those who remember the process that birthed it.
So, when you go through pain, don’t murmur. Don’t fight it. Whisper to God, “Lord, teach me what this season is for.” Because the making of a man is hidden in the mystery of his pain.
Let me say this finally:
The weight of your anointing is directly proportional to the depth of your breaking.
Stay with God, even when it hurts. Stay with Him until your tears become oil. Stay until your pain becomes power. Stay until your scars become signs.
And when the world sees you manifesting greatness, you will know it was not ambition, it was not connection, it was not luck. It was the making of God through pain.
That is how greatness is born. That is how true anointing comes.
