Did you know a lot of Siblings are NOT friends and are just bound by duty. I wasn't so shocked to learn my very good friend who was kidnapped last year was carried out by his blood brother.

I knew he was kidnapped and later released and the family kept it private, I just kept sending messages of encouragement to his mum and was thankful when he called himself to say he was back home .. however the details of the whole movie just surfaced.
Yes, movie because I find it still unbelievable.

My friend was on his way to commission his hotel in their hometown when he was supposedly accosted but he already knew of the kidnap plan and played along.

Someone he had helped pay for his child's delivery few years ago called him, introduced himself and told him someone had contacted him to hold him for ransome on a specific day, gave details of his movement and all. He said he immediately wanted to dismiss the caller until he reminded him of very personal conversations they had the day he met him crying at the hospital when his wife put to birth through CS and he wasn't prepared financially for it.
The caller specifically warned him not to tell his elder brother.

To prove his point, the caller asked him to discuss certain movements and expected funds with him and see if he would relay the info to those he contracted ... The said brother passed the test in flying colors cos every info he gave his brother in private, this gangster would call and inform him word for word.

Armed with this knowledge he didn't go to the police or alert his family, he played along and was kidnapped and taken for a mini vacation.
He said he actually wanted to know the mind of his brother.

His brother kept calling all through the 4 days asking if he had eaten, hope no health challenges, instructing them not to touch him and give him whatever he asked for.

The older brother immediately put the hotel up for sale as planned, a planted buyer surfaced with the ransome money, older brother paid off the gang members, instructed his brother to be released and that was when he showed up with the gang leader and his friends who still refused to involve the police.

For context, the older brother claimed he sacrificed going to school and travelling out so his brother could travel to Germany and upon his return he has been giving him crumbs.

Let's not even talk about how lazy, undeserving and entitled this older brother is, a behaviour endorsed by their mother who I am telling pointedly is the center of all this.

Business after business, all ventures opened for him fails and the mother has never failed to remind him his brother is the reason why he is successful. He was placed on a monthly salary since his head cannot carry business but his sole annoyance was his brother building a hotel in their hometown to "rub his money in his face", even tho the hotel was their late father's name.

Now this is the part that angers me most; he left the money with his older brother, refusing to take it back saying that should be his settlement and their paths should never cross in life again. He says he is cutting off both mother and brother.

I cannot reiterate this enough;

Family Bonding is an intentional act and art, blood tie shrouded in survival will not survive.

Stop the subtle comparisons.

Stop the forced sacrifice imposed on older siblings, as much as possible give your children equal opportunities.

I personally have a family member who would always dance and say "God naim give me xyz"
I had to ask her if it was the devil who gave her the other 2 children. Do you know the seed you are watering amongst them? Fast-forward to today, the 3 siblings cannot sit in the same room, 2 don't speak to each other and I shake my head .

Lastly, they are children not assistant parents.
If you do your duties as a parent, we will raise better children. and by extension a better society.

The youngest person ever sentenced to Death was 14 years old George Stinney an african who was accused of killing white girls aged 11 & 7. He was sentenced and killed with a 5380 volt shock in the electric chair. 70yrs later in 2014, George Stinney was proven innocent.
It took a jury of 12 white men 10 minutes of deliberation to find George Stinney guilty. His siblings claimed that he had an alibi. At the time of the murders, he was with his sister Aime watching the family’s cow.

It was also noted that a man named Wilford “Johnny” Hunter, who claimed to be Stinney’s cellmate, said that Stinney denied murdering Binnicker and Thames.

“He said, ‘Johnny, I didn’t, didn’t do it,'” Hunter said. “He said, ‘Why would they kill me for something I didn’t do?'” 💔💔

Before Poverty, Before Insecurity…
Ignorance Destroyed the Northern Nigeria.

We’re now reaping what we sowed for many years .

For decades, Northern Nigeria has been deliberately kept in the dark. Our people have been denied quality education and awareness, millions of children are out of school.

Many adults can’t read or reason beyond what politicians or clerics tell them. This ignorance fuels manipulation, religious extremism, poverty and insecurity.

Politicians use it to buy loyalty with handouts, some religious leaders exploit it to control minds and because of it, the North keeps falling behind while others move forward.

Ignorance has become more dangerous than any weapon because it kills ambition, silences truth, and keeps our youth dependent.

Sadly, people are giving birth to children they can’t feed, educate, or protect and the system rewards that recklessness with silence. This is how poverty and insecurity reproduce themselves generation after generation.

Our leaders exploit ignorance, religion, and hunger to stay in power. They fear an enlightened North because an informed people can’t be controlled with handouts or empty promises.

We must invest massively in education, awareness, and political enlightenment.

We must teach our people to think, question, and demand better. Until we fight ignorance, no development or reform will succeed.

It’s time to wake up the North.
