Process of Cooking Okpa (Bambara Cake)
Ingredients:
Bambara nut flour (Okpa flour)
Palm oil
Pepper (fresh or dry)
Salt
Warm water
Optional: crayfish, onions, or scent leaf
Steps:
1. Mix the flour in a clean bowl.
2. Add palm oil and stir until the color becomes yellowish and smooth.
3. Add pepper, salt ( optional) crayfish, seasoning and onions if preferred
4. Gradually add warm water to make a thick, smooth paste.
5. Pour into wrappers (banana leaves or nylon bags).
6. Steam in a pot with water for about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
