HEEDING THE DOCTRINES.
TEACHING: Apostle Solomon Adeshina.
TEXT: 1 Timothy 4:16 KJV
Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
What does it means to HEED?
To "HEED" mean to pay attention to something being cautious and careful about it.
This implies that one becomes alert and also mindful of potential risk and warnings.
It is very important that we begin to bring the counsel of God with cognitive perspective in this day and times to the church as the body of Christ which is in the last days.
Because it is observed these days, that many who called themselves christians are now looking for ways to water down certain doctrines and are finding ways to prove them useless.
This is why Apostle Paul was giving a potent instruction to the believer in Christ to take HEED
1 Timothy 4:16 KJV
Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
Else we will become like children
----Ephesians 4:14 KJV
tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive;
What are DOCTRINES?
Doctrines are the entire body of essential religious truths that defines and describe the whole essence of what it all about, what it stands for and it message.
They are scriptural teachings on theological truths.
----In 1 Timothy 6:3-5 KJV Bible began to tell us that,
If any man teach otherwise this scriptural truth, and consent not to wholesome words which is the doctrine of our Lord Jesus Christ, a doctrine which is according to godliness;
[4] He said, such a person is proud and knows nothing,
[5] He said, this set of persons are Perverse and are men of corrupt minds, which are destitute of the truth, who think godliness is gain he said from such withdraw thyself.
----1 Timothy 1:10 KJV
Most especially from whoremongers, from those who defile themselves with mankind, from menstealers, from liars, from perjured persons, and from any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; from such withdraw thyself.
1 Timothy 4:16 KJV
Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.
And if you don't take HEED,
----Galatians 1:6 KJV
you will soon discover and be surprised that you have been removed from him that has called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel a strange doctrine.
Galatians 3:1 KJV
O foolish Galatians, who hath bewitched you, that ye should not obey the truth, before whose eyes Jesus Christ hath been evidently set forth, crucified among you?
One thing I have come to bring to our remembrance this morning is that doctrines are indispensable to the disciples of Christ and Christianity does not exist without it .
----2 Timothy 1:13-14 KJV
Therefore we must Hold fast the form of sound words, which we have heard, in faith and love which is in Christ Jesus. [14] That good thing which was committed and given to us we must strife to keep by the Holy Ghost which dwell in us.
Now this is not just talking to the Pastors but to every believer in God and this can only be achieved by giving yourself wholesomely to a life of perpetual study of the word of truth.
----1 Timothy 4:15 KJV
Paul told Timothy to Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.
----2 Timothy 2:15 KJV
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
To Heed the doctrine is paying close and r***d attention to the teachings of the Bible.
WHY HEED THE DOCTRINE
1: To save and deliver yourself from false teachings, error and heresies

Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. [16] Ye shall know them by their fruits.
2 Peter 2:1 KJV
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
2: To save others from erroneous principles and immoral practices.
1 Timothy 4:16 KJV
save them that hear thee.
3: To be an example to others in doctrine and conversation.

I pray for you, let that staying power on sound doctrine and the hunger for scriptural truth according to that which was delivered by our Lord Jesus the Christ; rest upon you in the name of Jesus
From now on I decree let your dead study Alter receive life and let it burn with an intensified fire
Let your life from this day begin to experience a new dawn in God's light in the name of Jesus.
Give the Lord thanks give him glory Alleluia.
From your brother,
Solomon Adeshina.
