I feel that some of the belly fat some mothers said they could not get rid of after delivery, could be unresolved and, or undiagnosed diastasis recti.

This is one of the reasons you need to go back to the hospital for six weeks follow up. At this time it's expected involution would have occurred to a greater extent, and abnormalities can easily be detected.

Mothers, always use that opportunity for six weeks immunisation and see your doctor for postpartum follow up, it's very necessary.

Work Place Toxicity

A toxic place of work can make one fall into depression if care is not taken. Whether it's from the superior or colleagues, toxic environment can never be healthy.

It can lead to loss of confidence, low self esteem, poor work output, mistakes, etc especially to an individual who can not or does not know how to handle it.

I have an experience of workplace toxicity but usually from colleagues not superior/management. I try my best to avoid those attitudes from getting to me, especially my mental health.

The major approach i adopt is to ignore if I can.
Or approach/confront the person where necessary or possible.
I also forgive with or without apology from the colleague.

These approach had made it easier for me to cope with toxicity that comes from work place.

Team work

I am a lover of team work. I enjoy it when ideas or solutions to a problem are being analysed by team.

I love learning and new discovery. Imagine having a perfect idea in your head and after analysis, you found out that such idea could have landed you in a problem if the approach was not changed.

My friend and superior recently told me to watch his back. That I should always point his wrongs out. I actually do this, but now he has officially permitted me 😊. He has also been keeping me in check too🤣🤣.

I am happy to have someone who irrespective of our closeness will always tell me my wrongs, or give me audience to explain the reason for my actions. It is a big deal to me.

The toll of sickness

I did exclusive breastfeeding for my baby, and she has been a foodie from the time we commenced complementary feeding till now.

However, last week she fell ill to the extent I was forcing her to take pap, it was that bad.

I actually realised she had swollen gum on the day four of the sickness when I was already expecting recovery, then the food rejection followed. Two days later we were admitted in hospital.
We battled it for more four days when she started taking other foods willingly.

Because of the way I do force her to take pap and medications( injections inclusive), she started avoiding me. She didn't come to me when thirsty, she would prefer someone else or her father to give her water, snacks, juice, foods,etc.

It hit me that she had lost trust in me 😁😁. Though we are still on the process of recovery, she is gradually coming around, and I am doing my best to rebuild the trust. Parenting a child is not easy.

Maybe I need to revisit stages of child development😄.

Hospital visit

I once had a patient who after consulting with the doctor had no medications to pay for. His complain was what can be solved without medication as first line of treatment.

So he was counselled on lifestyle changes or modifications by the doctor. When he came out, I told him that he had no prescription.

He was surprised and asked if I was joking, I said no. He had to meet the doctor for confirmation. When he came out he started expressing how surprised he was. That he never believe that someone can go to hospital, consult with doctor and go home without medications.

He kept shouting at interval till he left after about 30minutes. He said he needed to wait a bit maybe we will remember what medication to prescribe for him🤣🤣🤣.It was a funny scene that day.

And this could also be the reason some people don't like going to hospital because they always feel that they will be charged huge money afterwards. The charge or fee depends on your health condition anyways.

I hope this helps some persons to seek medical help and get treated earlier where necessary, to prevent avoidable complications.

Strength

God blessed some people with extra strength.

This woman in my ward has extra strength, despite the fact she did sugery few days ago. She is not forcing anything, not show off. She is just a strong woman. I am not sure i can relate to that kind of strength.

She does not complain of pain, but we administer the injections at due time. She said she had no help during her first baby, had to do everything herself including taking care of her junior one. And i think that really helped her too.

Women are going through alot honestly. Personally, I envy patients who have people at their disposal when needed. That's emotional support which is actually essential for patients in the hospital.
