While in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, I led a delegation to Ummul Qura University in Makkah. We were warmly received by Professor Sheikh Hassan Al Bukhari, the revered Imam of Ka’abah Mosque and Dean of the Arabic Institute.

Our discussions centered on forging partnerships to advance Arabic literacy, secure scholarships, and enhance teacher training—key pillars in integrating Arabic education into the Commission’s mission for Almajiri and out-of-school children. Professor Al Bukhari’s enthusiasm for collaboration shone through, pledging support via academic exchanges, research initiatives, and opportunities for Nigerian students.
