Building Your High Pitch as a Singer

having a strong, consistent high pitch is essential for delivering powerful and convincing performances. However, building and maintaining a high pitch can be challenging, especially for those who are new to singing or struggling with vocal technique.

Before attempting to sing high notes, it's essential to warm up your voice with some simple exercises. These exercises will help loosen up your vocal cords, get you breathing properly, and prepare your voice for singing.

Lip Trills, Start by making a "brrr" sound with your lips, then move into an "ooo" sound. Repeat this process a few times.

Tongue Trills, Place the tip of your tongue behind your upper teeth, and then quickly move it back and forth, keeping your jaw relaxed.

Neck Stretches, Gently tilt your head to the side, bringing your ear towards your shoulder. Hold for a few seconds and then release. Repeat on the other side.

Proper breathing and support are crucial for singing high notes. When you breathe correctly, you'll be able to support your voice and produce a more consistent tone.

Practice breathing deeply into your diaphragm, rather than shallowly into your chest. This will help you support your voice and produce more power.

As you breathe in, engage your core muscles to help support your voice. Imagine you're pulling your belly button towards your spine.

Now that you've warmed up and are breathing correctly, it's time to focus on building your high pitch.

Sing scales and arpeggios in a comfortable range, gradually increasing the pitch as you become more comfortable.

Choose a high note that's just out of your comfortable range ,and repeat it several times ,take break and come back to the note, gradually increasing pitch.

Practice singing in your falsetto voice , focus on producing a smooth even tone, gradually increase the pitch as you become more comfortable.

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy, he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade--kept in heaven for you, 1 Peter 1:3-4

Most of us, when we wake up in the morning, have certain expectations for the day. Maybe we make a to-do list or review our calendar. We know that there will be interruptions and surprises, but for the most part, we know what to expect in the day ahead.

What we often fail to do is look ahead with great expectation to the final page in the story of our lives. This verse reminds us to live with eagerness. Looking forward to the inheritance that is kept in heaven for us. It is pure and perfect and unable to change or decay. In other words, we are guaranteed that all the promises of Scripture about eternal life will come true. We will not be disappointed.

In a world where we have learned to keep our expectations low so we won't be disappointed by life, it is wonderful to know that our expectations about heaven can't be too high. It will be better than we can ever imagine. Today, while you make your plans, do the things you expect, and maneuver through the unexpected things that come up, lift your gaze to the horizon of heaven. Let yourself eagerly anticipate the final day when you will see Jesus and discover that He is better than your wildest dreams. Therefore it's better to serve God intentionally now than to be overtaken by worldly ambitions.

I decree God will help you to the very end to walk in holiness and live the life that please God in the Mighty Name of Jesus Christ.

Good morning to you and have a wonderful weekend.

8 TIPS ON HOW TO SING LIKE A PROFESSIONAL
👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇
1. Warm up your body before your voice.
Aerobic exercise is a great way to warm up before singing. When your body is energized, your voice responds faster. You’ll know you’re warm when you start to sweat.

2. Release tension.
Tension is a singer’s worst enemy. Yoga or deep stretching before you sing will show you where you’re holding tension. Don’t hold your breath and try to push past your limit. Gently exhale deeper into each stretch. Your mouth and jaw should open and close freely, your facial muscles, lips, tongue, neck, and shoulders should move without tension, and your eyes should be relaxed and alive.

3. Don’t “take” a breath when singing.
When we speak, we don’t run out of breath in the middle of our sentences and we don’t actively “take” a breath before we speak. Our body knows how much air we need because it responds to what we want to say. In much of our vocal register, the same rules apply. Actively “taking” a breath to sing can cause tension in your chest, shoulders, and neck. Think your thought and you’ll have the air you need for the phrase you need to sing.

4. Don’t hold your breath before you sing.
Read any sentence in this article out loud. Done? Notice you didn’t hold your breath and you exhaled as you spoke. Now sing that sentence. It should feel the same. If you took a breath and held it right before you sang, you’re causing tension by doing too much. Just say what you have to sing.

5. Open your mouth.
If you’re not holding your breath you’ll feel an instant connection to your belly moving in and out. If this feels like it does when you’re yawning, you’re open wide enough. At least two fingers’ width between your teeth is a good position for singing.

6. Remain relaxed.
Keep a slack jaw (open mouth), fat tongue, loose jaw, lips, and neck. Your head should float like a bobblehead doll.

7. Singers are athletes.
Singing is physical. You must express your passion.

Vocal Cool Down:

Vocal cool down is just the opposite of vocal warm up. Therefore, Let's talk about vocal warm up a little, before we talk about vocal cool down(the major topic), so that we can get a better understanding.

Before we(singers) engage in singing activities, we(singers) stretch/prepare our voice for singing activities (with some exercises which we call vocal warmup exercises) in other to reduce the risk of wear and tear/ damage of the voice, just the same way athletes would also warm up their muscles before training or starting a game.

Let me put it this way: Vocal warm up helps the voice move from its normal mode to what I call a "performance mode". Thus, while warming up, singers gradually prepare their; vocal folds(by gradually stretching it to its full potential for singing activities), resonator(vocal tract), support system(respiratory system), and the vocal tract articulators. This would help reduce the risk of injury and vocal damage while carrying out singing activities. Thus, you are warming up gradually from your lower range, up to your upper range.

But vocal cool down in the other hand is the opposite of what vocal warmup is. And just as the name implies, it means, cooling down the voice after singing activities. That is, returning the voice back to what I call the normal mode(to your speaking range). It helps the voice recover after much use(singing activities). That is, it resets the voice from the performance mode back to the normal mode.

Let's talk about the exercises used for vocal cool down:

The exercises used for vocal cool down are almost the same with that of vocal warm up too. But in cool down, you are actually bringing everything down this time. That is, instead of moving up (as it was in vocal warm up), you are gradually moving down from a comfortable range. And I'll recommend you use any of the SOVT exercises for this purpose.

There are lots of SOVT exercises out there, some of them are:

👉🏽Lip trill

👉🏽Staw phonati
