Dear recent graduate or soon-to-be corp member! Congrats on making it through school! As you enter the big world, remember it's not just about your certificate. I learned the hard way.
Sure, the school made you literate, but literacy does not equal education or employability. If getting employed is at the top of your agenda, read this.
Ready?π
Let's roll!
1) Develop Your Soft Skills: Focus on the must-have skills like communication, selling problem-solving, and using digital tools. These skills are a must regardless of your field or what you studied. They are often more valuable than just academic qualifications. I wish I had known this before I finished school and hit the job market.
2) Build a Strong Portfolio: Showcase your projects, internships, or relevant experiences. Employers love to see what you can do rather than just what you studied.
3) Continuously Learn: Education doesn't stop at graduation. Education and schooling are not synonymous.
To enhance your chances, take online courses or programs or pursue certifications.
πWorkplace Foundational Skills Program (this is in the soft skills school, and it is universal and compulsory for anyone who wants to join the global workforce, be it as a professional, freelancer, academic or entrepreneur).

4) Consider Skill Development Programs: Organisations like SFW offer specialised soft skills programs to equip recent graduates and youth corps members with the skills needed to excel in the job market.
5) Gain experience through internship or volunteering
