Dear Freelancers
Freelancing is never a walk in the park
At first, it comes with the excitement of choosing your hours to work.
You have:
Your peace,
Your freedom
Your own money
Simply because it’s flexible and no one controls or tells you what to do and how to do it
The realistic side we barely talk about is the discipline you need.
The self-control and persistence even when it doesn’t make sense at all
How you are meant to be the disciplinarian, the manager, and the motivator of yourself
The reality sets in when you can’t afford to be all of these to yourself
The ugly moments and days when nothing is forthcoming
Some days you wake up and are ready to take the bull by the horns and the next day you wake up as an entirely different person
Zero motivation
No zeal
No inspiration or energy
Freelancing will rest you
It will shake you
It will make you compete
It will humble you
At the end of the day,
It only rewards the few who choose to show up and be consistent
