What would you do in this situation?

I’m a hospital worker in the respiratory care unit. One day, a critically injured patient was brought in. His face was covered in blood, & as I cleaned him up, my heart sank.

I recognized him.

Three years ago, he was one of the kidnappers who abducted four of us. Even after receiving a ransom payment, he said it wasn’t enough and and killed one of us.

Now he’s lying unconscious, not knowing I’m the one responsible for operating the life-support machine. If I switch it on, he has a chance to live. If I don’t, he will die.

I stood there looking at him, remembering everything that happened.

If you were in my position, what would you do ?
