Learning CorelDRAW the Hard Way 😩😂
A friend of mine tagged me in a post by Mr. Welath, who’s offering ₦50,000 to anyone who can create an amazing design for his new album, “The Evening Sacrifice.”
I’m not even after the money o — all those things don’t matter in heaven 🌝🌝
THAT DOES NOT MEAN I WILL NOT COLLECT THE MONEY IF THEY GIVE ME 😂😂
But I decided to challenge myself by designing in a software I’m not familiar with: CorelDRAW.
I normally design using Photoshop and Pixellab, but I had never done real work in CorelDRAW before.
So, I opened the software and started designing… 🤦🤦
It wasn’t easy, bro.
I struggled to remove image backgrounds and even adding simple effects felt hard.
Just trying to rotate text was stressful — I kept pressing Photoshop shortcuts, but nothing was working!
When I exported the design, it came out with a white background 😩. I had to start cropping into the canvas manually.
At one point, I had to switch to Photoshop to remove Mr. Welath’s picture, then bring it back into CorelDRAW 😂😂
But I used CorelDRAW for the other background image and layout.
I searched YouTube for tips, but I couldn’t find any reasonable tutorial that made sense.
Despite all the struggle and confusion, I trusted my instincts and finally came up with this design.
Even if I don’t win the prize, I’ve learnt something new — and that’s a win for me.
