It is with a heavy heart and profound sense of national loss that I received the news of the passing of former President Muhammadu Buhari who died at the age of 82.

President Buhari was a notable leader, patriot, and elder statesman who served our beloved nation as both a military Head of State and President, to the best of his abilities.

He will be remembered as a courageous leader, a disciplined officer, and a committed public servant who made considerable contributions towards the peace and progress of our dear nation.

The late President was deeply admired across the strata of society for his decency, integrity and exemplary life of service. As a leader, he was selfless in his commitment to his duty and served the country with character and a deep sense of patriotism.

In his passing, Nigeria has lost one of its foremost leaders, and I have lost a respected colleague and elder. His legacy will continue to endure in the hearts of all who value sacrifice, integrity, perseverance and devotion to national ethos.

On behalf of my family and the Goodluck Jonathan Foundation, I extend my heartfelt condolences to his immediate family, the good people of Katsina State and all Nigerians who mourn this great loss.

May Allah forgive his shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Jannatul Firdaus.

2027: “We’re Coming With 10 Million Youth Votes For Tinubu” – APC Youth Leader |

As preparations intensify ahead of the 2027 general election, the national youth leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dayo Israel, has declared that the party’s youth wing is mobilizing 10 million votes to secure a second-term victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Israel made the declaration in a statement on Monday while announcing the launch of the Progressive Youth Resource Center in Wuse, Abuja.

He said the facility will serve as both the strategic and operational hub for youth mobilization within the APC.

His words: “This visionary initiative is aimed at strengthening party structures through youth-centred innovation, engagement, and leadership development.

“It would more importantly house the party’s official youth mobilization effort towards the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in 2027.”

Describing the centre as a legacy project of his tenure, Israel said it marks a turning point in how youth engagement is structured within the APC.

He praised Tinubu as a “pan-African Youth Champion” who has consistently empowered young people from his time as governor of Lagos to his current role as president.

He cited youth-friendly initiatives such as the student loan scheme and the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI) as evidence of Tinubu’s impact.

“I travelled across all 36 states with my team during the 2023 elections to mobilise youth votes. In 2027, we are coming with 10 million votes from the youth,” he declared.

He added that the vision for the centre was shaped by international study tours to countries like India, China, Ghana, Morocco, and the United Kingdom, where he and his team examined the youth wings of ruling political parties.

“Our goal is to build a youth wing capable of responding to the challenges of our generation—one that gives voice to the emerging generation and drives transformative change,” Israel said.

The APC youth leader affirmed that over 200,000 elected youth leaders across the party’s structure would be key drivers of the mobilization effort.

“Our primary objective is clear: to win the hearts and minds of Nigerian youth by reshaping their perspectives about the APC, expanding our youth base, and aligning our strategy with the Renewed Hope Agenda set forth by President Bola Tinubu,” he added.
