This was caused by a poorly constructed water stand in one of the Lekki buildings.

The landlord said he is not in Nigeria that it was the Engineer that built all the houses and sent him the pictures and the videos.

A precious life lost just like that because of one person’s carelessness.

May her soul Rest In Peace. Amen 🕊 🙏

CBN Announces New ₦5,000 & ₦10,000 Notes

"In a bid to reduce cash handling challenges, the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has introduced new ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 notes featuring iconic Nigerian leaders. The notes will be in circulation from May 1, 2025."

CBN Unveils New ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 Banknotes to Enhance Cash Transactions

Abuja, April 1, 2025 – The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has officially announced the introduction of two new denominations - ₦5,000 and ₦10,000 banknotes; as part of ongoing efforts to streamline cash transactions and improve liquidity management.

According to the Deputy CBN Governor, Dr. Ibrahim Tahir Jr., the move is aimed at reducing cash-handling costs and providing Nigerians with more efficient means of conducting large transactions. "The introduction of these new high-value denominations aligns with global best practices and will enhance economic activities while reducing the stress associated with carrying large amounts of cash," the Governor stated.

The new ₦5,000 note will feature the portrait of Chief Obafemi Awolowo, while the ₦10,000 note will showcase Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, both in recognition of their contributions to Nigeria’s development. Additionally, the new notes will incorporate enhanced security features, including color-changing ink, holograms, and anti-counterfeiting technology, making them impossible to replicate.

The nationwide rollout will begin on May 1, 2025, with commercial banks instructed to start issuing the new notes via ATMs and over-the-counter transactions.

Nigerians are advised to exchange their old Naira notes at banks before June 30, 2025, after which lower denominations may be phased out gradually.

"I was just a primary school teacher earning about N60,000 when I decided to marry my wife.

A few months before our wedding, she got a job in another state, a very good and well-paying job.

This created a dilemma for us.

Which one of us would have to quit their job so we could live in the same state?

We didn’t want a long-distance marriage.

After the wedding, I decided to quit my job as a primary school teacher and follow my wife to the state where she was working.

It wasn’t an easy decision because of the cultural belief that women should be the ones to follow their husbands.
So why was I, as a man, doing the opposite?

Well, I didn’t let culture or my ego stop me, I followed her.

I became the house husband 😆

I woke up to clean the house, cook the food, and do all the house chores while my wife went to work. I made sure she never felt the stress of working because I was always there to help.

At the end of the month, when she received her salary, she gave me the ATM card to her account. As the husband, I handled our finances even though she was the one earning.

From that money, I gave her an allowance for her upkeep and took care of everything she needed.

She never complained or made me feel bad for not working or earning money.

A few months later, through her connections, she helped me secure a well-paying job, one that even paid more than hers. From there, I was able to start a business, and that was how our lives changed.

Today, I don’t just lead as a husband, I also lead financially 😆

But all of this happened because I didn’t let my ego get in the way.

I didn’t allow the cultural belief that "the wife must follow the husband" to stop me from making the best decision for our future.

I didn’t allow pride to take over, I helped at home since I had the time.

And, indeed, I married a good wife who never disrespected me just because she earned more."
