4 ways to make ChatGPT sound like you 👇

20/08/2025

One thing I’ve learned from working with professionals and institutions is this:

People don’t actually hate AI, even when they say they do

They also don’t fear it.

Truth is, they simply don’t understand it.

And too often, they’ve never had someone break it down for them.

That’s where I come in.

My work is about making AI simple, human, and practical - so people not only get it, but can actually use it in their daily work and lives.

Here’s what I bring when I’m on a stage or panel:

➡️ How non-techies can "use" AI effectively
➡️ AI adoption strategies that actually stick in businesses and organizations
➡️ Why AI literacy is Africa’s secret advantage for the future of work
➡️ Relatable use cases that spark those “aha” moments

If you want a speaker or podcast guest who:

- Keeps it real
- Strips away the jargon
- Leaves your audience informed and empowered…

The real AI advantage isn’t just in using ChatGPT

It's in thinking with ChatGPT.

Most people open ChatGPT, type a prompt, get an answer, and stop.

They use AI like a smarter Google.

But real leverage comes when you bring AI into your actual thinking process:
- Unpack messy ideas
- Pressure-test assumptions
- Explore new angles
- Structure complex problems
- Spot what you’re missing

It’s not just “Give me an answer.”

It’s “Let’s figure this out together.”

That’s why I say:
Using AI helps you work

Thinking with AI helps you think better.

This skill separates casual users from those who truly transform their work

And guess what? It’s 100% learnable.

The Simple Technique That Turns AI Drafts from Good to Great

You know the cycle…

You ask ChatGPT for a draft.

It spits something “okay.”

Then you spend 30 minutes editing… and end up frustrated.

There’s a surprisingly simple fix.

A technique I call the Rinse and Refine Loop, and the secret is to make the AI critique its own work.

Instead of wrestling with rewrites, or patching drafts yourself, you command the AI to find its own flaws and improve itself, until the draft is sharper.

Here’s how to do it in two simple steps:
1. First, give the AI your initial request. Let it produce its first draft.

2. Then, give it this powerful follow-up command:

“Analyze your response and identify 3 weaknesses. Then rewrite it, addressing those issues. Do this 3 times, focusing on different aspects each round.”

By doing this, you're not just asking for a new version; you're forcing the AI to think critically.

It will identify its own flaws and then actively correct them, learning to improve its output based on your direction.

It’s one powerful way to take control and ensure the AI gives you exactly what you need.

Quick Tip: This would work best if your first prompt is solid. A vague prompt just gives you vague drafts. Start with a clear request, then let the rinse & refine loop do the polishing.

I’ll show this and more in my upcoming free webinar on how to get confident with ChatGPT.

Most people define their audience wrong.

They think "followers" when they hear:

"Define your audience."

But audience goes far beyond social media.

That’s why their AI output feels flat.

Let me show you the fix:

Your audience is the specific person(s) you’re trying to reach.

Who’s on the other end of your message?

Because that answer shapes AI's output.

As a student, it might be a professor expecting precision.

As a researcher, it could be peer reviewers scanning for rigor.

As an admin, maybe it’s stakeholders who need clarity not jargon.

Even within the same field, the tone and style you use can shift.

Writing for a lecturer?

Different than writing for a PhD examiner.

Different audiences call for different language.

That’s why getting specific matters with AI.

When you say “write for my audience"

Or even skip it entirely in your prompt

AI can only guess who you mean.

And that guess?

Often way off.

But if you tell it exactly who you're writing for

It adapts tone, focus, and clarity instantly.

Examples:

“Summarize this for a project manager.”

“Rewrite this for beginner entrepreneurs.”

“Condense this for academic peer reviewers.”

Here’s a prompt you can try:

“Act as an expert writer. I’m writing for [type of audience, e.g., final-year law students, internal staff, grant reviewers]. Please rewrite this content in a style and tone that fits this audience, using language and examples that will resonate with them.”

That’s the real skill.

Knowing exactly who you're talking to.

So, social media or not, your audience = the person (or group) with the power to act on what you say.

Define that person.

Then prompt accordingly.

6 Ways Social Media Managers Can Use AI to Work Smarter, Not Harder

No AI humanizes your content better than you.

Want it to sound human - like you?

Start with your prompt.

Because AI only sounds like you when you teach it how.

Many creators fall into this cycle:

• Use AI to write
• Content sounds robotic
• Try another tool to “fix” it
• Still doesn’t feel right

Let’s break that loop.

The key? It starts with the prompt.

Here are 6 simple ways to "humanize" your content right from the start:

➡️ Show your writing style - Share examples of how you write

➡️ Leave room for stories - Add personal experiences afterward

➡️ Be specific with tone - “casual,” "formal" or even “optimistic despite challenges"

➡️ Ask for imperfections - Let it be a little messy or natural

➡️ Vary sentence length - A mixture of short and long. This adds rhythm, makes it real.

➡️ Add your unique view - What’s your take that makes it yours?

Stop wasting time with the generate-fix-regenerate cycle.

AI should support your voice, not replace it.

What do you do to keep your AI-assisted writing true to you?

9 Jobs AI Will Take Over Sooner Than You Think

AI is moving fast, and the first wave of disruption is already here.

According to a recent Forbes article, these jobs are among the most threatened:

🔹️Data Entry

🔹️Administrative Scheduling

🔹️Customer Service

🔹️Bookkeeping

🔹️Financial Modeling

🔹️Basic Data Analysis

🔹️Paralegal and Legal Research

The article also says "Graphic Design, Copywriting and Basic Journalism face disruption" from AI tools and custom GPT

Additionally, based on real-world market trends, I believe two more roles are increasingly at risk:

🔺️Virtual Assistant Services

Modern AI tools can now manage emails, book meetings, send reminders, and handle customer queries with speed and precision.

Many businesses are already replacing human virtual assistants with AI-driven scheduling and communication agents, cutting operational costs significantly.

🔺️Social Media Management

AI-powered agents are being used not just for creating content but for publishing, monitoring engagement, replying to comments, and even running ad campaigns.

Social media content creators themselves are automating a large part of their workflow, leaving traditional social media managers with less to do unless they specialize in deeper strategy or community-building.

Adaptability is the new job security.

Upskill in strategic thinking, emotional intelligence, creativity, and complex problem-solving.

These are areas where AI still falls short.

The AI Advantage: How Deep Reading and Critical Thinking Can Set You Apart

In a world where AI delivers instant information, our ability to read deeply and think critically is more vital than ever.

With AI-generated content on the rise, skimming headlines or scanning articles and information just won't cut it.

The Challenge

Short attention spans and a reluctance to engage with longer reads leave us vulnerable to AI's persuasive outputs.

We're constantly bombarded with information, making it harder to distinguish fact from fiction.

The Solution

To navigate this landscape effectively, we need two essential skills:

🔹️The Willingness to Read Deeply:

AI requires more than a surface-level understanding.

Resist the urge to swipe past lengthy articles or complex ideas.

Instead, take the time to read thoughtfully, exploring the depth and potential biases.

🔹️Critical Thinking: Don't blindly trust AI-generated content.

Question its sources, identify assumptions, and evaluate its logic.

Ask yourself:

- What are the underlying assumptions?
- Are there potential biases or agendas?
- Does the logic hold up to scrutiny?

Why It Matters

AI can be a powerful tool, but only if we possess the mental muscles to analyze its information effectively.

By cultivating a habit for deeper reading and a sharp, questioning mind, you'll be better equipped to:

- Evaluate complex information
- Thrive in an AI-driven future
- Make informed decisions

Try these strategies to develop your deep reading and critical thinking skills:

- Set aside dedicated time for reading complex materials

- Engage in discussions about AI-generated content

- Practice active reading by taking notes and asking questions

By combining these skills, you'll become a more discerning consumer of information and a more effective user of AI tools.
