Father and Son.
The Father and the Son are both entities.
Pay attention closely, there are not same entities but separately. Genealogically, the father is greater than the son. Not just a selected position by man but nature - biology.
Jesus is clearly stated in the scriptures as the Son of God.
God is also clearly stated as the Father.
1 Corinthians 8:6 (KJV) But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him.
The fact is obvious in the scriptures.
To start with, the book of Numbers gives us a striking pointer to help us draw the line in this subject.
Numbers 23:19 (KJV) God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good?
Now take note of the subject of this verse; it's discussing the character of man and the emphasis is on change - the word repent is same as change.
God does not change.
God is not a man.
Jesus is a man.
He was seen
He was felt, as described by John.
1John 1:1-10
Jesus is the son, and He's answerable to the father.
John 17:1 (KJV) These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:
It is clear that Jesus was communicating with someone greater than him. See verse 5 of same chapter.
John 17:5 (KJV) And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.
God can not pray to himself to glorify himself.
Glorification is an elevation of position.
Glorification is immortality which God has given to Jesus and in the age to come you and me shall also be glorified - given immortality.
Romans 2:7 (KJV) To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
God chose to glorify man
Psalms 8:4 (KJV) What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
God is mindful of man
God chose to give glory to man amongst all his creatures.
Jesus the man has been glorified.
You too shall be glorified - given immortality.
The Father and the Son are not the same.
Glory to God.
