Dear Business Owner,
PREVENT THE SUDDEN DEATH OF YOUR BUSINESS WITH "NO FREEBIES" POLICY!
As a Nigerian entrepreneur, I know how difficult it can be to strike a balance between personal relationships and business.
We are taught to always help our friends and family members, even if it means giving our products and services for free.
But let me tell you, this is a dangerous mindset that can lead to the downfall of your business.
I've seen too many examples of people taking advantage of their personal relationships with entrepreneurs to get freebies.
Maybe it's a close friend who asks for a discount, or a family member who expects your services for free.
It's important to remember that these requests, if granted, can be detrimental to your business.
You can't sustain a business if you're giving away your products or services for free all the time.
That's why it's important to implement a "no freebies" policy in your business.
Yes, it may be difficult to say no to your loved ones, but it's necessary for the success of your business.
A smart entrepreneur doesn't mix business with pleasure, and neither should you.
Here are three steps to implement this policy in your business:
1. COMMUNICATE YOUR POLICY CLEARLY: Let your friends, family members, and even your church members know that you have a business to run, and you can't give away your products or services for free. Explain the importance of paying in full, and how it helps you sustain your business.
2. OFFER DISCOUNTS, NOT FREEBIES: If you want to help out a loved one, offer them a discount instead of giving them your product or service for free. This way, they still get a benefit, but you're not losing out on income that your business needs to survive.
3. STICK TO YOUR POLICY: It can be tempting to make exceptions for certain people, but it's important to stick to your policy. If you give in to one person, others will expect the same treatment. Remember, your business needs to make money in order to survive and thrive.
For example, let's say you run a catering business, and your church members are always asking for discounts on your services.
Instead of giving in to their requests, offer them a small discount if they refer other paying customers to you.
This way, you're still helping them out, but you're not losing out on income that your business needs to succeed.
As a smart Nigerian entrepreneur, you shouldn't entertain parasites in your business.
Make it clear to your friends, family members, and church members that your business is a separate entity, and they should pay in full for your products and services.
Stick to your policy, and offer discounts instead of freebies when you want to help out a loved one.
This way, you can build a successful business without compromising your personal relationships.
I just say make I share with you!
Cheers!!
