Dear Goldenflex,
I never thought I would end up here, but life has a way of testing people in ways you least expect.
In January 2024, my husband told me he wanted to take a second wife. The woman in question had already been part of our marriage for about 3 years as his sidechick . I confronted her, I fought, I cried, and I eventually got tired.
Eventually, I was told a traditional marriage had been arranged between them in March 2024. At that point, I felt broken, but I stayed in my marriage because of my six sons and because I honestly didn’t know where else to go.
My husband went out to drink with his friends and collapsed, when I got to the hospital I couldn’t open his phone, because I didn’t know his password.
I threw away my shame and reached out to his other woman asking if she knew the password. She gave me the password, it was her birthday and it worked. He was diagnosed with serious health issues, and I stood by him through treatment, lifestyle changes, hospital visits, and recovery. It was not easy, but he survived.
Over time, things seemed to improve. My husband apologized, became more caring, even bought me a car, and we tried to move forward as a family. I later heard the other woman had also moved on and gotten married, and I genuinely wished her well.
But yesterday, I discovered something that broke me again. My husband had gone back to communicating with her, even though she is now married. The messages were disrespectful, and I was deeply hurt by what I saw. On his phone chat with her.
So I sent the chats to her husband on facebook and he replied with thank you, I have always suspected her.
Now my husband’s phone won’t stop ringing, from different threats but honestly, he can’t ask Me and I don’t care. I am exhausted emotionally.
What I have learned is this: no matter how much you give, you cannot control someone else’s choices.
At this point, I’m fully prepared to cheat back.
