🌿 THE BEST EXAMPLE IS ALREADY GIVEN TO US
⚠️ Before you introduce something as part of Islam, ask yourself: Was this demonstrated by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ?
📖 Allah ﷻ says:
“Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example for whoever has hope in Allah and the Last Day and remembers Allah often.”
(Quran 33:21)
SubhanAllah! 🤲
This verse gives Muslims a powerful principle:
❤️ Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is our example.
When it comes to worship and matters presented as part of the religion, we should be careful not to introduce practices that have no basis in the Qur'an or authentic Sunnah.
🕌 How did the Prophet ﷺ pray?
🤲 How did he make duʿā?
📿 How did he remember Allah ﷻ?
🌙 How did he worship?
❤️ How did he teach his companions?
These are important questions.
⚠️ Not everything that looks religious is necessarily part of Islam.
Good intentions alone do not make a newly introduced act of worship part of the religion.
The Prophet ﷺ said:
“Whoever introduces into this matter of ours that which is not from it, it will be rejected.”
(Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim)
🌿 So before saying, “This is part of Islam,” let us ask:
“Did the Messenger of Allah ﷺ teach it, practice it, or approve it?”
🤲 May Allah ﷻ help us follow the Qur'an and the authentic Sunnah, protect us from exaggeration, and keep us upon the guidance of His Messenger ﷺ. Āmīn.
