Tips for Achieving a Perfectly Baked Cake

1. Measure Your Ingredients Accurately
Use measuring cups for dry and liquid ingredients and a kitchen scale for even better accuracy. Baking is a science—wrong measurements can ruin your cake texture.

2. Use Ingredients at Room Temperature
Butter, eggs, and milk should be at room temperature to help them mix better and create a smoother, more even batter.

3. Preheat Your Oven
Always preheat your oven for at least 10–15 minutes before baking. This ensures even heat distribution from the start.

4. Don’t Overmix or Undermix the Batter
Overmixing can make the cake dense; undermixing can cause uneven baking. Mix just until all ingredients are combined.

5. Prepare Your Pans Properly
Grease and line your pans with parchment paper to prevent sticking and ensure easy release.

6. Bake on the Center Rack
Position your cake in the middle of the oven so it bakes evenly on all sides.

7. Avoid Opening the Oven Too Early
Opening the oven door too soon can cause the cake to sink. Wait until the cake is mostly set (usually after ¾ of the baking time).

8. Check for Doneness Properly
Insert a toothpick in the center—if it comes out clean or with a few crumbs, the cake is done. You can also gently press the top; it should spring back.

9. Cool Before Removing from the Pan
Let the cake cool in the pan for 10–15 minutes before turning it out. This helps prevent breaking or crumbling.

10. Store Correctly to Maintain Moisture
Once completely cooled, store the cake properly—either wrapped in cling film or in an airtight container to keep it soft and moist.
