Four Nigerian stowaways were rescued on the Atlantic Ocean after being thrown overboard by the crew of a foreign vessel.

The young men, seeking to escape Nigeria’s economic challenges, had boarded the ship in secret with hopes of reaching foreign shores.

The crew of the vessel, upon discovering the stowaways, allegedly responded with violence, casting the men into the open sea.

The situation could have ended in tragedy were it not for the swift intervention of a maritime logistics company owned by a France-based Ekiti-born business mogul, Mr Harrison Niyi Alonge.

The public relations officer of the firm, Olawale Ezekiel, made this known in a statement to journalists on Thursday, May 22, 2025.

“The crew, led by a captain, detected suspicious movement in the waters and quickly raised the alarm. Acting on their report, Alonge ordered an immediate emergency operation, which led to the rescue of the four victims,” the statement read.

“All four victims were found alive but clearly traumatised. They are now in stable condition and receiving proper care. Their survival is nothing short of a miracle.”

“They were clinging to debris, weak and barely able to call for help. We acted quickly. Another few minutes, and they might not have made it."

The rescued individuals, James John, Favour Efe, Kingsley Williams, and Kingsley Mathew, have since been handed over to the Nigerian Navy at the Navy Base Atlas Cove, Takwa Bay, for further care and debriefing.

"This incident underscores a growing migration crisis in Nigeria, where economic instability, unemployment, and insecurity have driven many young people to attempt perilous journeys in search of a better life. According to the International Organization for Migration (IOM), hundreds of Nigerians undertake risky maritime routes annually, often resorting to illegal and life-threatening methods.

“As investigations into the incident continue, the spotlight remains firmly on both the plight of Nigeria’s youth and the

A lot of people drowned simply because they didn't know:
If you find yourself underwater in a car, don't panic.

🔴1. Dont waste your energy trying to push the door

🟠2. Do not open the window, the force of the water entering the car will not allow you to get out

🟡3. Take out the head rest

🟢4. Use the steel sharp tip and break the back window that has kick out glass on it. (I did not know this)

🔵The car by engineering and design is intended to float in the water and the rear window will always be facing the exit.

🟣This could save your life.

In most of nature, life begins from below.
But for the Suriname toad, birth bursts through the spine.

After mating, the female absorbs the fertilized eggs into her back. Over weeks, her skin grows around them, forming dozens of fleshy chambers. Inside each, a baby toad develops — arms, legs, and all.

When the time comes, the skin ruptures. The tiny toads launch themselves out of her back like missiles. No eggs. No tadpoles. Just full-on amphibians, born from the flesh.

Evolution rewrote the rules of birth — and made it brutal.

Some birds sing.
Some birds soar.
This one… dominates.

Meet the cassowary — nature’s prehistoric powerhouse. With skin like sapphire, eyes that pierce, and a helmeted crown designed by evolution itself, this bird isn’t built for flight — it’s built for war.

A single kick can shatter bone.
Its claws? Like daggers.
And that horn-like casque? A battering ram from the Cretaceous era.

It doesn’t chirp.
It doesn’t flee.
It stares — because it knows no predator dares.

In the forests of Australia and New Guinea, the cassowary walks like a shadow of extinction… and a reminder that some dinosaurs never died — they just got feathers. And

She could have spread her wings.... could have run away.... and saved yourself.
But she didn't. She didn't even try. It stayed right there... next to the most valuable thing it had.. 💔

In birds, this instinct is deeply rooted in their biology. The prolactin hormone, responsible for incubation behavior, shoots into the brain during the breeding season. This substance not only drives them to build nests and warm their eggs but also to defend them, even in the face of imminent danger.

They don’t feel love as we humans understand, but they feel urgency, duty, and something deeper: the genetic programming to protect the future of their species, even if it means facing death.

This little body, still among the ashes, isn't just a bird's.
It's a mother's.

Suspected Jihadists Attack Military Post in Burkina Faso, Burn War Supplies

By: Zagazola Makama

Suspected jihadist militants on Tuesday launched an attack on Burkinabè military forces in Lanfièla, near Dédougou in western Burkina Faso, setting ablaze stockpiled war supplies.

Local sources reported that the assailants stormed the area in the early hours, targeting a military post and destroying what has been described as “the effort of war,” a reference to supplies gathered to support the national security campaign against insurgents.

The extent of casualties or damage from the attack has yet to be confirmed by Burkinabè authorities as of press time.

At 40 years old, the eagle faces a life-or-death choice.
Its talons have grown too long and curved — they can no longer grasp prey.
Its beak becomes too bent — it can’t tear food.
Its chest and wing feathers are too heavy — they make flight nearly impossible.

Now the eagle has only two options:
die… or endure a long, painful transformation.

It retreats to its mountaintop nest.
There, it begins the brutal process of rebirth.

It smashes its beak against a rock until it breaks off.
Then it waits. Slowly, painfully, a new beak grows.
With that beak, it pulls out its old talons — one by one.
And once those regrow, the eagle uses them to rip out the heavy feathers from its chest and wings.

150 days of struggle. Pain. Isolation. Silence.

But when the process is over — it soars again.
Reborn.
Stronger.
Free.
And it lives on… for another 30 years.

Sometimes, to truly live — we must change.
Change often comes with fear, discomfort, even heartbreak.
But clinging to what no longer serves us — old habits, toxic patterns, outdated beliefs — weighs us down.
Only when we release the burden of the past can we rise into the future.

The pain of transformation is real — but so is the power of rebirth.

Troops Take the Fight to Terrorists’ Doorstep in Sokoto, Zamfara Forests, eliminates 6

In a daring continuation of Operation of Troops of Operation FANSAN YANMA Phase V, the troops have penetrated deep into terrorist strongholds across parts of Sokoto and Zamfara States, dismantling layers of insurgent infrastructure and recovering weapons.

The multi-day operation, which began with swift assaults on identified camps, saw troops advancing through highly hostile territory, including Gidan Madi, Tsamiya Village, Tudun Ruwa, Alela, and several forested areas notorious for harbouring terrorist cells.

Security sources told Zagazola Makama that the troops encountered multiple ambushes laid by fighters of the Lakurawa terror faction, a splinter group known for its entrenched operations in the North West region.

Despite the resistance, the troops pressed forward, clearing key hideouts beyond Alela village, including the Areo general area, Damoria, Tumuna Village, and the densely wooded Goboro Forest.

“These locations have been long used by terrorists as logistics hubs and operational bases for launching attacks on civilian communities and security convoys,” a senior military source familiar with the operation said.

The military offensive did not come without cost. One soldier was wounded in action (WIA) during the series of engagements, while a vigilante supporting the operation paid the ultimate price. The wounded soldier was promptly evacuated to the 8 Division Military Hospital (8 DMSH) in Sokoto for treatment.

Troops also neutralised six terrorists affiliated with the Lakeurawa faction during the operation. Several others escaped with varying degrees of gunshot wounds, fleeing into the surrounding forest areas.

Among the arms recovered from the cleared camps were various weapons, magazines, two handheld radios, and motorcycles which were some of the items believed to have been used for communications and mobility within the camps.

Tragedy in Ugbema Mbagen, Buruku LGA, Benue State

A heartbreaking incident occurred in Ugbema Mbagen, Buruku Local Government Area of Benue State, as a 38-year-old man identified as Timothy Asor, a member of the Vehicle Inspection Office (VIO), allegedly struked his biological mother to death.

According to eyewitnesses, Timothy returned home from work late at night and began to exhibit strange behavior, reportedly speaking incoherently and acting as though he was scanning for metals. He then called his mother out of the house while she was asleep and, without any clear provocation, picked up a stick and struck her twice to her head.

Despite the efforts of neighbors who intervened and rushed the woman to the hospital, she sadly succumbed to her injuries. Timothy fled the scene and is currently at large.

Authorities have launched an investigation to uncover the cause of his actions. Mental health concerns are suspected, but no official conclusions have been reached yet.

We ask for prayers for the grieving family during this extremely difficult time and for the soul of the deceased to rest in perfect peace.
