The 3 Instructions God Gave Me That Changed My Finances Forever
"I thought my problem was God. Then He showed me I had been praying the wrong way all along."
Kenneth E. Hagin shared a moment that completely transformed his understanding of biblical prosperity.
After leaving the security of a pastorate to travel as an evangelist, his family struggled financially. His income dropped, his car wore out, his clothes were worn thin, and his family lived in a small apartment. In prayer, he reminded God of His promise:
"If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land." (Isaiah 1:19)
Then the Lord spoke to his heart:
"You are obedient, but you are not willing."
With a surrendered heart, he chose willingness, and the Lord went on to teach him three principles that would shape the rest of his ministry:
1. Claim what you need by faith, trusting God's promises.
2. Command Satan to take his hands off your provision, recognizing that God is not the one withholding His blessings.
3. Send forth God's ministering spirits to carry out His purposes, according to Hebrews 1:14.
Hagin testified that when he acted on those instructions in faith, his needs were met. More than a lesson about money, it became a lesson about trusting God's Word, aligning his heart with God's will, and walking in obedient faith.
Biblical prosperity is not about greed or selfish ambition. It is about trusting God as your source, honoring Him with your life, and using His provision to fulfill His purposes on the earth.
God remains faithful to His promises, and He still honors hearts that trust and obey Him.
