Akure Unveils N200M Online Banking, Business Empowerment Scheme In Yagba West
The Toyosi Akure Foundation has announced the launch of a N200 million online banking and business empowerment initiative aimed at supporting start-ups and small businesses in the Yagba West Constituency of Kogi State.
The Mega Empowerment program is scheduled to be officially launched on May 15, 2025, and will focus on expanding financial inclusion and enhancing business capacity for entrepreneurs within the constituency.
Dr. Toyosi Akure, the Founder and Chairman of the Foundation, disclosed this in a statement made available to Middlebelt.ng on Sunday via an online chat.
According to him, the scheme is designed to empower small-scale business owners and start-up operators who face challenges in accessing traditional financing and digital banking services.
“This initiative is a strategic investment in the future of our people. We are creating opportunities for start-ups and small businesses to thrive through accessible loans, digital literacy, and entrepreneurial training,” he said.
He added that the Foundation will work with online financial platforms and grassroots banking institutions to ensure effective disbursement, monitoring, and support for all beneficiaries.
Dr. Akure noted that the programme forms part of the Foundation’s broader mission to drive grassroots development, tackle unemployment, and promote self-reliance among youths and women in Kogi State.
He assured that beneficiaries would undergo tailored training in digital banking, financial management, and business sustainability to ensure responsible loan usage and long-term impact.
The official launch event will hold at the Tobiloba Hall and Event Centre, Egbe and is expected to attract key stakeholders from the public and private sectors, including government officials, financial experts, and community leaders.
Middlebelt.ng reports that the Toyosi Akure Foundation has consistently contributed to socioeconomic development in Kogi State, particularly in the areas of education, health, youth empowerment, and rural infrastructure.
