This is alarming- 15 B2 corpers kidnapped in Kogi state yesterday

Gunmen have kidnapped 15 corps members returning from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Permanent Orientation Camp in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State on Wednesday.

One of the relatives of the kidnapped corps members who spoke with FIJ on Thursday said that the youths were abducted along the Ofu/Itobe–Onicha-Igo axis in Ofu LGA, Kogi State, on their way to Abuja.

A yet-to-be-identified suspected vandal has reportedly been electrocuted while allegedly attempting to remove power cables from a transformer along Chun Mada Street in Akwanga town, Nasarawa State.

Residents expressed concern over the incident, linking repeated power outages in the area to persistent acts of electricity infrastructure vandalism.

However, security agencies and the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) have yet to officially comment on the incident.

Authorities are expected to provide further details as investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident continue.

The Executive Chairman of Doma Local Government Council in Nasarawa State, Jonathan Addra Okuba, has declined a donation of a ram and ₦50,000 presented to him by some Fulani community leaders during a solidarity visit recently.

In a gesture that has drawn commendation, the Chairman expressed appreciation to the delegation for the goodwill but requested that the items be redirected to vulnerable and less privileged persons within the local government area.

A source close to the Chairman disclosed that this marks the fifth time since he assumed office over a year ago that similar gifts have been offered and turned down.

The Nigerian Army have arrested a 30 year old woman identified as Halima Ibrahim for allegedly supplying fi****ms to bandits.

The soldiers reportedly carried out an operation in a forest hideout used by kidnappers in Kisayi, Bassa Local Government Area of Plateau State.

where they arrested Halima as she was allegedly attempting to flee, She was reportedly found with an AK-47 rifle.

The soldiers took Halima into town and proceeded to her residence to conduct a search. During the search, they reportedly discovered another AK-47 rifle hidden in her room.

Honestly, Halima has done wrong. She has betrayed the country and her own people.

GOOD NEWS: Yesterday afternoon, troops of Sector 2 Operation FANSAN YAMMA in Tsafe LGA, Zamfara State, foiled an attempted abduction around Magazu Village.

Acting on credible intelligence, the troops moved in and engaged the armed attackers, forcing them to abandon their vehicle and flee into the bushes. A follow-up search led to the rescue of 14 kidnapped victims.

One victim sustained gunshot wounds and was evacuated to General Hospital, Tsafe, for treatment. Thankfully, no security personnel were injured.

Kudos to the troops for their swift response, courage and professionalism. Their timely intervention saved 14 lives.
