So yesterday, I called the woman that I’m doing contribution (ajọ) in her hand and told her that I want to pack the money I have contributed so far.
Immediately, she got angry.
She said, “Why do you want to collect your contribution when we are just in March?”
She even added that I’m not contributing the amount other people in the group are contributing.
Which is true o… my own amount is the smallest.
Because last year when she told me about the contribution group she created and asked me to join, I told her clearly that I don’t have much money.
She said, “No problem. You can be contributing any amount you have weekly. By the end of the year, you will see how far you have gone.”
I said, “Okay.”
She now told me that if I can contribute ₦5,000 every week, I will pack ₦260,000 by the end of the year.
I told her immediately that ₦5,000 weekly is not my mate.
So I said let me just be contributing ₦800 every week, the one I know I can do comfortably without stressing myself.
We calculated it and she said by the end of the year, if I’m doing ₦800 weekly, I will pack ₦41,600.
I said, “Okay, no problem.”
So I joined the group and the contribution has been going well so far… Until yesterday.
When I needed money urgently. I didn’t even know what to do.
Then suddenly I remembered that I have a contribution group somewhere.
I quickly called her and said, “Please, I need my money. I want to pack the one I have contributed so far.”
She was shocked.
She said, “You don’t want to wait till the end of the year?”
I said, “No. I need it urgently.”
She now calculated it and said, “You contributed ₦800 for 9 weeks. That is ₦7,200.”
I said, “No problem. Just send it.”
She now asked me, “What do you want to do with ₦7,200? What can it even do for you? Are you serious?”
I said, “Yes, I’m serious. Please send my money. I cannot be saving money when I need the money to save me.”
She sent the money and I thanked her.
Then she asked again, “What exactly do you want to do with this ₦7,200 you just collected? It cannot do anything for you o.”
₦7,200 cannot do anything for me keeeeh!?
For money wey I don use restock my foodstuffs this morning 😑😂
