I have a girlfriend who is a police officer. When she misses me, she just come to my house in uniform and arrest me in presence of my wife and take me to her home till the next day.

Then she bring me back and tell my wife “we are not done with investigations yet. I shall pick him up anytime we want more from him“

And my innocent wife will always say: 'madam officer, God bless you for handling my husband's case with care I will make sure he is always available anytime you need him''. 🙇

Went to Oyigbo market yesterday and my Nivea lip balm accidentally fell on the ground. I bent down to pick it up and while looking through my legs… I saw something that nearly made me faint🙇

The woman selling pepper behind me looked like she was standing on her head. The meat seller suddenly had four eyeballs😳 and another person nearby had legs like a leopard.

I screamed and immediately stood up… then everything went back to normal.

At that point, the whole market was staring at me like I was the strange one🤦

Please tell me… was I overthinking, hallucinating, or what exactly happened there? Because I’m still confused till now🙇

Being a single mom is a pressure most people couldn’t survive. She holding the kids, the bills, the stress, and the heartbreak all by herself, still clocking in, still cooking, still wiping tears and keeping it together when life won’t let up. Ain’t no days off, ain’t no real help just strength she gotta find even when she empty. Quitting was never an option once little eyes started watching, so she push through the exhaustion and loneliness in silence. Folks don’t see the nights she cry or the mornings she gotta gas herself up just to function, but she show up anyway. One day her kids gon’ understand the wars she fought to keep them good. Until then, she take a deep breath, square her shoulders, and handle business like she always do.

Amanda thought say today go just be normal day… until her phone decided to betray her

She dey her room quietly, pressing phone like innocent child, when suddenly her mum’s voice scatter the whole house:

AMANDAAAAA!!! COME HERE RIGHT NOW!!!

Immediately, her heart shift comot from normal position
She waka come out gently, pretending like say she no know wetin happen.

Only to meet her mum for sitting room, standing like commander-in-chief of African mothers
One hand dey for waist. The other hand hold phone like evidence for court case

Then her mum shouted:

MADAM! THE AIR THAT YOU BREATHE IS CALLING YOU??!!

Amanda freeze instantly.
Brain hang. Soul nearly disconnect

“Mummy please… e no be wetin you think…” she talk, voice shaking like NEPA light

Her mum carry the phone come closer to her face:

SO YOU DON SAVE BOY NAME AS ‘THE AIR I BREATHE’??!!
YOU THINK SAY THIS HOUSE NA CINEMA??!

Amanda no even know when tears start
Because how person wan explain romance when African mother don enter judgment mode?

Mummy abeg… na just nickname…

Her mum fire back immediately:

“NICKNAME KEHHH? SO IF I SEIZE YOUR PHONE NOW, YOU GO STOP BREATHING ABI??!!”

At that point, Amanda just knew say today no go end well.
Lecture go full ground.
Phone fit disappear for the next three business months.
And fasting may even join

Meanwhile for her mind she just dey pray:

“God abeg… if I survive today, I no go ever save anybody name like this again🙏
