The name of this fruit in Esan is called Ukpokuma.
Ukpokuma is the Esan name of this fruit ,otherwise known in English as African cucumber .

The fruit that was commonly found everywhere while we were growing up is rarely to be found this days cause of development that is making impact in our communities.
Deforestation and clearing of our bushes has resulted in this fruit almost disappearing from existence .
The next generation might not get to know it but only through pictures .
