KOGI MEN ARE HARBERLIST☠️
Whenever most of us from Kogi State introduce ourselves, there’s always that hurtful response: “Kogi Guys like charm oo.” And if you go further to say you’re from the Igala tribe, you’ll hear: “I hear say una women dey carry their husbands do juju.”
Those words cut deeper than any weapon. They don’t just mock us, they tarnish who we truly are.
First of all, Kogi men are among the most responsible men you will ever meet. Yes, I won’t deny there are bad eggs, but tell me, which tribe or state doesn’t have people like that? To generalize an entire state based on rumors or one bad encounter doesn’t only make you foolish, it makes you ignorant.
Secondly, they claim that igala men do charm to pursue people from work; it is nothing but a stupid lie. On the contrary, if you dare cross that line with a an igala man, you could lose your life. igala man is generous, but his generosity has boundaries and he takes no gentle-lity for a fool.
There’s even an igala proverb about a dog that once attempted to touch a cat’s a**s while they were playing. The cat warned the dog without mincing words:
“Me kin chajama dowo cho' ofe mi no”
(I can play with you, but don’t ever mistake my kindness for weakness.)
So, before you repeat those careless words, remember this: stereotypes doesn't define a people🤏 truth does☝️
