BREAKING: Peter Obi officially defects to ADC amidst speculation of being offered VP to Atiku

The 2023 presidential candidate under Labour Party, Mr. Peter Obi, has officially defected to African Democratic Congress (ADC).

He made the announcement on Wednesday December 31 in Enugu, Enugu State.

Some Nigerians are speculating that there is no way Atiku will so much invest into taking over ADC, only to allow Obi or another person take the presidential ticket. Therefore they speculate further that Obi must have settled for the vice president to Atiku Abubakar, the former vice president under Chief Olusegun Obasanjo.

Pastor Chris Okafor kneels to publicly apologize to Doris Ogala, others to end relationship controversy

The relationship controversy surrounding Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry (Grace Nation) and Nollywood actress, Doris Ogala, takes a new turn as the clergyman publicly knelt down to apologize to Doris Ogala during his church service on Sunday December 28, 2025.

In a Livestream during the Sunday service, the cleric said:
"... The lady called Doris Ogala, listen, we are not joining any issues. Mistakes have been made in the past and I tender apology to everybody.

He however said that the allegations levelled against him are not completely true,
"But everything that was said is not true. Take note, everything that was said, never true. There are so many lies in most of the things that were said. But howbeit, I say, I am sorry to everyone that I have offended. To the Doris Ogala I also say sorry and I apologize to everyone that I have offended.

"And once again, I repeat this, I am ready to make restitution to anyone and any lady, anywhere or man I have offended, I am sorry, forgive me. I am not perfect, I have never been perfect.

"But I tell you, I've had a new beginning since the coming of these fathers of faith into my life.

"I am kneeling down before everyone and before the Church."

He went down on his two knees and the church members rose as their senior pastor knelt down. He was on his knees for few minutes before rising and adding:
"I am asking you, forgive me. You can judge me. Pray for me.

Ending the apology by declaring that he has turned a new leaf:
"Now I present to you a brand new pastor. A brand new prophet. A great and global man of God."

In her response, Doris Ogala, posted on her page:
"Chris Okafor, please don't kneel. This was all I wanted. Apology accepted."

Insecurity: Tinubu approached Turkey for help as Gumi asks govt to discontinue with US and instead seek help from Turkey, China, Pakistan

President Bola Tibubu said the Federal Government of Nigeria has sought help from Turkey over the insecurity challenges in the country.

The president spoke on Friday December 26; while receiving clergymen from the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), led by its President, Archbishop Daniel Okoh, at the president's private residence in Lagos; asking for the understanding of CAN with the government:
“The mood of the nation is peaceful, although our ungoverned spaces are so large. The challenge is real, but we will surmount it. We are very religious. We are prayer warriors. We need your focus, vigilance, and cooperation.

“Community and State Police will be a reality once the National Assembly completes the required legislative inputs; Military hardware is difficult to replace. It is expensive and not available off the shelf.

“Our orders for four attack helicopters from the United States of America will take some time to arrive. We have approached Turkey for assistance."

He stressed that some of the measures taken by his administration needed some time to mature. Therefore calling on members of CAN to work with his administration for the good of the country towards achieving the nation’s common goal.

It is of note that following the Christmas day airstrikes carried out by the United States of America against ISIS, and announced immediately by US President Donald Trump; which the Federal Government of Nigeria later released a statement about adding that it was a collaborative efforts; the controversial Islamic cleric, Sheikh Abubakar Gumi, strongly spoke against the airstrike that:
“Nigeria should halt all military cooperation with the USA immediately because of its imperial tendencies worldwide".

Gumi went further to ask the Federal Government to, instead seek military assistance from countries such as China, Turkey, and Pakistan. Describing them as "those neutral countries..."

BREAKING: Many travellers feared dead as suspected bomb explodes on Zamfara highway

Arise News247 gathered that many travelers have been reportedly killed by a suspected bomb explosion that rocks the Yar’Tasha–Dansadau road in Maru Local Government Area of Zamfara State today Saturday December 27, 2025.

This has been confirmed to Arise News247 by The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the state command, Yazid Abubakar in a telephone conversation saying: “I can confirm that there was a blast in that area but the incident just happened. I can’t tell you details yet. I will update you later.”

As at the time of filing this report the extent of the casualties are yet to be confirmed.

Debris Found in Offa and Jabo After US Airstrikes Explained:

Arise News247 reports that, according to an Air Force Officer that prefers to remain anonymous, for the kind of airstrikes the America carried out on Christmas day in Nigeria, "long-range munitions like cruise missiles or long-endurance tactical drones were launched from maritime platforms domiciled in the Gulf of Guinea, near the coast of Ghana, for "precision strike operations against two major Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist enclaves located within the Bauni forest axis of Tangaza Local Government Area, Sokoto State.

"Obviously the flight path was a straight line from the ocean to the Sahel region.That line definitely runs directly over Offa, Kwara State and Jabo, Tambuwal Local Government Area of Sokoto State".

In the course of this kind of operations, "long-range missiles shed weight as they fly. Meaning, they drop their fuel tanks or booster rockets once the fuel is spent, allowing the warhead to continue to the target locations.

Therefore, "what the people of Offa witnessed during the course of the operation is known as ‘staging'", which means "debris from expended munitions fell in Jabo, Sokoto State and in Offa, Kwara State. As earlier explained, that is the long-range missiles shedding weight as they fly. And dropping their fuel tanks or booster rockets once the fuel is spent, allowing the main warhead to continue to the target," to rain heavy bombardment on the enclave of the terrorists as a highly successful operation.

So it was not a misfire or wrong target or bombing Offa community and farmland in Jabo, as wrongly claimed by those who don't understand such airstrikes operations.
