Tragedy struck in Makurdi, Benue State, after a Point of Sale (POS) operator identified as Alice Ote Okpa, a student of Benue State University (BSU) and an orphan, was allegedly attacked by one of her regular customers, Mrs. Cynthia Emmanuel, during a business transaction.

According to eyewitnesses, the incident occurred along Naka Road, Makurdi, where Alice operates a POS business near Bush Bar. Reports say Mrs. Cynthia had called Alice to bring a cash amount of โ‚ฆ850,000 to her residence for a transaction. Out of trust, the student took the money to her house as requested.

However, in a shocking turn of events, Cynthia allegedly brought out a knife and stabbed Alice in the neck while pretending to go inside for her ATM card. The victim managed to struggle and escape from the scene, raising an alarm that attracted neighbors who quickly intervened and rescued her.

Alice was rushed to a nearby hospital for urgent medical attention, while the suspect, Mrs. Cynthia Emmanuel, was apprehended by residents and handed over to the police for investigation.

Residents have expressed outrage over the rising attacks on POS operators in Makurdi and other parts of Benue State, describing the situation as alarming. Many lamented that POS agents now face threats not only from armed robbers and fraudsters but also from trusted customers.

Authorities have been urged to tighten security and ensure justice for the victim as investigations continue.

Chaos erupted in Katsina on Saturday during a Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) fixture between Katsina United and Barau FC, after a Barau player, Nana Abraham, was brutally attacked by enraged home fans.

The violence broke out shortly after Barauโ€™s forward, Orji Kalu, scored a 69th-minute equaliser, bringing the match to 1-1. The goal appeared to anger some Katsina United supporters, who stormed the pitch and descended on Abraham, leaving him with a deep gash on his neck.

Barau FC confirmed the incident in a post on its official X handle, writing:

โ€œ70โ€™ The match is temporarily halted following an attack on Barau FC player, Nana Abraham. Katsina United | 1-1 | Barau FC.โ€

Just moments earlier, the club had celebrated the equaliser in another post:

Images shows Abraham bleeding from his neck as officials and teammates rushed to his aid amid confusion and panic. The match was suspended briefly as security personnel tried to restore order inside the stadium.

Donโ€™t ever let anyone โ€” not your friends, not your family, not even your woman โ€” tell you that something is impossible simply because they failed at it. Weak men project their limitations onto others; they want you to believe life is hard so they can feel better about quitting. But you are not built like them. You are not designed to fold when things get rough. You are designed to dominate.

A lot of men today have adopted a feminine mindset โ€” they talk more than they act, they crave sympathy more than results, and they run from pain instead of conquering it. Thatโ€™s how women operate emotionally, but as a man, your strength is in logic, resilience, and results. When a woman fails, people console her. When a man fails, the world laughs. Thatโ€™s your reality. Nobody cares about your excuses; they only respect your wins.

Let me tell you something: most people will never support your dreams because your dreams remind them of how small they are. Theyโ€™ll say, โ€œBe realistic,โ€ but what they mean is, โ€œStay on my level.โ€ You see that? Itโ€™s not advice โ€” itโ€™s fear disguised as wisdom.

You canโ€™t afford to absorb the energy of cowards. If they couldnโ€™t build, let them watch you build. If they couldnโ€™t endure the struggle, let them see you thrive through it. If they mocked you when you started, make sure they salute you when you succeed. The only apology a man should ever accept from society is respect after victory.

So stop talking like a victim. Stop crying like the world owes you something. Get up, build yourself, and make results your response. Because once you win, theyโ€™ll all pretend they believed in you from the start.
