✅Tottenham have signed Mohammed Kudus from West Ham for £55m; Spurs saw opening £50m bid rejected as Hammers valued the forward closer to £60m; Chelsea also explored conditions of a deal; Kudus has joined Spurs on a six-year deal.
✅Jordan Henderson is set for a shock move to Brentford; the 35-year-old - a Champions League winner with Liverpool - left Ajax on July 9 after 18 months with the Eredivisie club; the Bees sold captain Christian Norgaard to Arsenal on July 10.
✅Arsenal confirm signing of midfielder Christian Norgaard from Brentford; the Dane joins for a fee of £10m plus add-ons; Brentford captain is Arsenal's third signing of the summer, following goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga from and midfielder Martin Zubimendi.
✅Arsenal close to agreeing a deal with Chelsea for forward Noni Madueke; Madueke made 45 appearances for the Blues last season, scoring 11 goals and providing five assists; Madueke joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 and has played 91 times for them; his deal expires in 2030.
✅Arsenal Women are set to spend £1m on Olivia Smith from Liverpool Women; the Canada international would be the first women's player to break the million pound barrier; Smith featured in 20 WSL games last season, scoring seven goals.
✅Arsene Wenger has hit back at Jurgen Klopp after the former Liverpool manager said the FIFA Club World Cup was “the worst idea implemented in football”.
Wenger believes the new expanded FIFA tournament has been successful with high-quality matches and bigger attendances than expected. He says the 32 clubs who have taken part have enjoyed the experience and “100 per cent” want to play in it again.
He blamed a sceptical European media and clubs who did not qualify to play in the Club World Cup for negative coverage in Europe.
