A Tribute to My Uncle, My Mentor, My Inspiration
In Loving Memory of RTN Robert Onwuamaeze Oji (Osisioma)
24th September 1945 – 1st June 2025
Some people leave footprints so deep, the world is forever changed by their presence. My Uncle Robert was one of those rare souls. He wasn’t just family — he was a legend in every sense of the word.
From the earliest days of my return to Nigeria, he welcomed me not only into his home but into the heart of an industry he helped build. As the founder of Rocana Nigeria and a titan in Nigeria’s advertising sector, Uncle Robert didn’t just run a business — he built an institution. Through his creative leadership, he mentored an entire generation, myself included, showing us how to turn ideas into influence and paper into purpose.
He inspired the creation of KekeAds, my own journey into street-level brand impact. The soul of KekeAds — its simplicity, mobility, and community-first messaging — was directly drawn from the values he lived by: accessibility, creativity, and a relentless belief in the power of reaching people where they are.
Uncle Robert was never too big to be humble. Whether in his leadership with OAAN (South East Chapter), or his co-founding of Life in My City Art Festival, or his deep commitment to Rocana Institute of Technology, he infused everything he touched with vision and humanity.
He taught me that true advertising is not just about exposure — it’s about connection. It’s about telling a story that moves people to think, act, and remember.
As we mourn him this August, from Service of Songs on the 10th, to the Funeral Service on the 15th, and Thanksgiving on the 17th, we also celebrate a life that will never fade. A voice that will never go silent in our hearts.
Uncle, your legacy is etched in steel and paper, billboards and memories, but most powerfully, in the lives of those you inspired. Along with many others, I will carry forward your torch, not just in business, but in the integrity, grace, and purpose with which you lived.
Thank you for everything.
Your nephew,
Esona Onuoha
Founder, KekeAds
