According to reports from the Adeje Community in Okpe Local G0vernment Area of Delta State, a father allegedly be@t his own young son to d£ath simply because he accvsed the chi|d of “eating too much food”
Honestly, sometimes you read certain stories and you struggle to understand how anger can completely remove compassion from a person’s heart
Reports say the father became vi0lently enraged over the chi|d’s eating habits and allegedly continued be@ting him despite desperate pleas from the boy’s mother to stop
Even when the chi|d reportedly became weak and showed signs of serious injvry, the father allegedly dismissed it, claiming the boy was only pretending
Sadly, the child later lost consciousness and d!ed from the injvries
And honestly, this is why many people keep saying there is a dang£rous difference between discipline and cruelty
Because how does a chi|d become an enemy simply because he eats food?
Chi|dren naturally eat when they are hungry
That is not a cr!me
That is life
What makes this even more heartbreaking is that the child probably trusted the same person who ended up hurting him
According to reports, angry youths in the community quickly intervened, prevented the suspect from escaping and handed him over to the p0lice after he allegedly confessed his actions were triggered by the boy’s eating habits
I wonder what kind of frustration or anger pushes someone to completely lose control over a harm|ess chi|d?
Some children are silently suffering vio|ence inside the very homes that are supposed to protect them
