💃💃💃💃💃💃💃🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🏆🌺🌺🌺🌺
Beloved family, friends, and supporters across the nations, as we step into this New Year, I welcome you with a heart full of gratitude and reverence to God Almighty. The Lord who carried us through every storm, every tear, every delay, and every victory has been faithful. “Thus far the Lord has helped us” (1 Samuel 7:12).

I speak over your life in this new season:
✨ May divine light scatter every form of darkness before you.
✨ May the voice of God order your steps and silence every confusion.
✨ May doors that were shut by men be opened by God’s mighty hand.
✨ May your health, peace, family, and purpose be preserved.

This is not just another year , this is a God-ordained season. A year of restoration for what was lost, strength for the weary, answers for prayers long prayed, and fresh oil for new assignments. Where you have sown in tears, you will reap with joy. Where you have waited, you will testify.

May God Almighty crown this year with goodness, surround you with favor like a shield, and establish the work of your hands. May you walk boldly, love deeply, forgive freely, and live fully in alignment with God’s will.

Thank you for standing with me, praying, supporting, encouraging, and believing. I do not take you for granted. May heaven remember you for good.

🎉 Happy New Year!
Walk into it with faith, hope, and unshakable trust in God. This year, you will shine ✨
Welcome to 2026, the year of destiny fulfillment .

With love and prayers,
Engr. Dr. Egan Adat Okon-Effiong 🙏💙

👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇👇let me close 2025 with this to all my followers. PLEASE READ, ignorant of the law is not an Excuse.

“Domestic Violence Is a Criminal Offence in Nigeria”

Domestic violence is not a private family matter under Nigerian law. It is a serious criminal offence that attracts legal penalties, including imprisonment, fines, compensation, and protection orders.

The principal legislation governing this is the Violence Against Persons (Prohibition) Act, 2015 (VAPP Act).

What Is the VAPP Act 2015?

The VAPP Act 2015 is a federal criminal law enacted to:
• Eliminate violence in private and public life
• Protect victims (especially women, children, and vulnerable persons)
• Punish offenders
• Provide remedies, compensation, and protection for survivors

Unlike older laws, the VAPP Act goes beyond physical violence to criminalise emotional, psychological, sexual, economic, and harmful traditional practices.

⚠️ Important:
The Act applies directly in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and in any Nigerian State that has domesticated it.

How Domestic Violence Is Defined Under the VAPP Act

(1) Section 1 – Physical Violence

Any person who intentionally uses force that causes:
• Injury
• Pain
• Physical harm

commits an offence, including:
• Hitting
• Slapping
• Beating
• Kicking
• Burning
• Using weapons or objects

Penalty:
• Imprisonment up to 3 years, or
• Fine up to ₦200,000, or
• Both

(2) Section 2 – Emotional, Verbal & Psychological Abuse.

Domestic violence is not limited to physical injury.

It includes:
• Repeated insults
• Threats of harm or death
• Intimidation
• Harassment
• Isolation
• Manipulation and coercive control

Penalty:
• Imprisonment up to 1 year, or
• Fine up to ₦200,000, or
• Both

(3) Section 12 – Sexual Violence Within Marriage.

The VAPP Act abolishes the idea that marriage equals consent.

It criminalises:
• Spousal r**e
• Forced sexual acts
• Sexual intimidation

Marriage does NOT excuse sexual violence.

Penalty:
• Severe prison terms depending on the offence
• Compensation to the victim

(4) Section 13 – Economic Abuse.

The Act recognises financial control as violence, including:
• Withholding money
• Preventing a spouse from working
• Destroying personal property
• Denying access to basic needs

Penalty:
• Imprisonment
• Fine
• Restitution and compensation

(5) Section 19 – Protection Orders.

Courts can issue Protection Orders to:
• Remove the abuser from the home
• Prevent contact or threats
• Secure temporary shelter for victims

Violation of a protection order is itself a criminal offence.

(6) Section 45 – Compensation to Victims

Courts are empowered to order:
• Medical expenses
• Emotional distress damages
• Relocation costs
• Loss of earnings

This affirms that victims are entitled to justice, not silence.

Domestic Violence Is a Crime — Not Discipline, Culture, or Marriage Rights

The VAPP Act makes it explicitly clear that:
• Culture is not a defence
• Religion is not a defence
• Marriage is not a defence
• Forgiveness does not erase criminal liability

Once violence occurs, the State has the power to prosecute, even if family members pressure the victim to withdraw.

Legal Implications for Perpetrators✅✅✅✅✅

A person who commits domestic violence may face:
• Arrest without delay
• Criminal prosecution
• Prison sentence
• Fines
• Court-ordered compensation
• Loss of parental or custodial rights
• Permanent criminal record

Why This Law Matters✅✅✅✅✅✅✅

The VAPP Act 2015:
• Shifts domestic violence from “family issue” to state crime
• Recognises non-physical abuse
• Protects survivors legally and practically
• Holds abusers fully accountable

“Domestic violence is a crime under Nigerian law.
Silence protects abusers , the law protects victims”.

As we come to the end of 2025, I pause with a heart full of gratitude.
To everyone who stood by me, believed in me, prayed for me, encouraged me, corrected me with love, supported my dreams, and celebrated my wins, THANK YOU. Your presence, loyalty, and sacrifices did not go unnoticed. You were part of every step forward I took this year.

To those who worked tirelessly behind the scenes, those who showed up when it wasn’t convenient, and those who lifted me up when the road felt heavy, I appreciate you deeply. You helped shape my growth, my resilience, and my success.

Now, to those who fought hard to pull me down, questioned my journey, doubted my capacity, or tried to dim my light, I also have a word for you. THANK YOU. You unknowingly strengthened me, refined me, and pushed me into becoming better, wiser, and more focused. You reminded me that not every noise deserves a response, and not every battle deserves my energy. I rise not because there was no opposition, but because I chose purpose over distraction.

To my amazing fans, supporters, followers, and well-wishers: I wish you a joyful, prosperous, healthy, and victorious 2026. May the new year bring clarity, breakthroughs, answered prayers, open doors, and peace of mind. Thank you for riding this journey with me, I don’t take you for granted.

And to my haters, carry whatever story makes you comfortable. I’m too busy growing, healing, winning, and becoming.

2026 will meet me stronger, calmer, more intentional, and more unstoppable.

Cheers to new beginnings, higher levels, and greater impact.

Happy New Year in advance my lovely people.

WHY YOU CAN NEVER CHANGE AN ABUSIVE MAN

(1) Abuse is not a mistake , it is a pattern

One of the most dangerous myths surrounding abuse is the belief that “love can change him.”
That with enough patience, prayer, sacrifice, silence, or forgiveness, an abusive man will finally become kind.

This belief keeps too many people trapped.

Abuse is not caused by anger, stress, alcohol, finances, or childhood trauma.
Those may be triggers, but they are not the cause.

👉 The cause is entitlement.

An abusive man abuses because he believes he has the right to control, dominate, punish, and silence.

Abuse Is a Mindset, Not a Moment

Abusive men do not “lose control.”
They exercise control selectively.
• They choose when to abuse
• They choose who to abuse
• They often behave perfectly in public
• They reserve cruelty for private spaces

This is why many people don’t believe the victim.
The abuse is deliberate, calculated, and strategic.

(2) Why People Say “Abuse Is in Their DNA”
Not biologically but psychologically and behaviorally.

Abuse is often:
• Learned from upbringing or culture
• Reinforced by power and silence
• Normalised by systems that excuse dominance

Over time, it becomes a deeply ingrained pattern, not a bad habit that love can undo.

(3) The Cycle Never Changes
Most abusive relationships follow the same cycle:
1. Tension builds
2. Abuse occurs
3. Apologies, tears, gifts, promises
4. Temporary calm
5. Abuse returns—often worse

If love could stop abuse, the cycle would break.
It doesn’t—because the abuse benefits the abuser.

(4) Love Does Not Cure Entitlement
You cannot:
• Love someone out of control
• Submit your way into safety
• Pray abuse away
• Sacrifice enough to earn peace

Many survivors gave everything:
Years. Loyalty. Forgiveness. Children. Silence.
Still, the abuse continued.

Because the victim was never the problem.

(5) Real Change Is Rare and Requires Accountability
True change requires:
• Full ownership of harm
• Long-term specialised intervention
• Zero excuses or blame-shifting
• Years of consistent behavioural proof

Most abusers don’t want change.
They want power restored.

(6) The Most Dangerous Lie
“If I stay a little longer, he will change.”

That belief keeps people:
• Staying too long
• Normalising harm
• Losing self-worth
• Trauma bonded
• At risk emotionally, mentally, physically

Many didn’t stay because they were weak.
They stayed because they were hopeful.
Hope should never cost you your safety.

(7) The Truth That Sets You Free
You are not meant to fix what is designed to control you.
Walking away is not failure.
Leaving is not bitterness.
Choosing safety is not selfish.

The only real change happens when the victim changes their location—not their patience.

If This Message Spoke to You:
You are not alone.
You are not broken.
And you do not need to earn kindness.

Safety is your right not a reward for endurance.

Share this to break the silence. Someone needs it today.
