President Bola Ahmed Tinubu said the re-election of Governor Ademola Adeleke in the just-concluded Osun election is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our country under the All Progressives Congress administration.

"I called Governor Ademola Adeleke earlier today to congratulate him on his election victory in Osun State. His victory once again confirmed the confidence the people of Osun State have in him.

"I wish him great success as he prepares to lead the state for the next four years. Now that he has won, Governor Adeleke must unite the people of Osun State and rally them for growth, stability, and social and economic progress, regardless of the political choices they made at the election.

"I salute the courage and discipline displayed by other contestants in the election. Their participation deepened and enriched our country's democratic culture. The outcome of the election reflects the will of the people and is a fitting assurance that democracy will continue to flourish in our land."

President Tinubu commended the Independent National Electoral Commission and the security agencies for conducting a peaceful and transparent election that produced a clear winner.

Rivers APC Primaries: Amaewhule, Dekor, Hart, Others Emerge House of Reps Candidates

The APC on Saturday concluded its House of Representatives direct primaries in Rivers State, producing candidates for 11 of the 13 federal constituencies ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Among the successful aspirants are six serving members of the House of Representatives, who secured the party’s ticket for another term.

Also emerging from the primaries are the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Martin Amaewhule, alongside four other first-time contenders for seats in the Green Chamber.

Maybe people don’t really understand what a 1-star general means.

Since December, we have lost two Brigadier Generals, and that is very serious.

The U.S. spent over $500 million to rescue a Colonel trapped in a mountain area near Iran.

In context, a Brigadier General is higher than a Colonel and we have lost 2.

For the first one, I heard he tried to escape and even sent SOS, but no rescue came.

For the second one, I heard the vehicle did not start.

If groups like “they are our brothers” can at!ack military bases like this, then where is safe again?

I also remember the Okuama incident in Delta State, where a Lieutenant Colonel and about 15 soldiers were kpaied. After that, the village was burnt down.
