A Woman murdered her boyfriend at Asongama Estate.

Police in Akwa Ibom say they have arrested one Lorretta Anoh over the gruesome murder of a 36-year-old man, Chikoka Emeka Henry in his Osongama Estate residence, Uyo.

Anoh who was last seen entering the Apartment on Tuesday and search on her led to the recovery of N2,943,250.00 cash which she confessed to have stolen from the victim.

Before her arrest, Anoh was also making arrangements to change the ownership of the 4Matic car of the deceased to her personal property.

The black 4Matic Mercedes Benz car with Reg. No. EKY 694 GP was removed from the car park in the residence of the deceased with Police preliminary report showing a deep cut on his head.

In the meantime, Akwa Ibom State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Amengheme Andrew has ordered the transfer of the case to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Ikot Akpan Abia for a discreet investigation warning members of the public to be careful of the company they keep.

🚨 BREAKING: UGANDA MOURNS: VETERAN LEADER GEN. MOSES ALI PASSES AWAY AT 87
Uganda's Second Deputy Prime Minister and longtime political giant, Gen. Moses Ali, has died.

The veteran politician and Adjumani West MP breathed his last at around 4:25 p.m. today at Nakasero Hospital in Kampala.

A Life of Service
Born in 1939, Gen. Moses Ali served Uganda for decades as a military officer, lawyer, and one of the most enduring figures in Ugandan politics.

He held key positions including Second Deputy Prime Minister, First Deputy Prime Minister, and was a consistent Member of Parliament.

Known as the "Lion of Adjumani," he remained active even after stepping down from cabinet earlier this year, winning re-election in the 2026 polls.

Tributes are already pouring in from across Uganda and the region for this elder statesman who dedicated his life to public service.

🇧🇫🇲🇱🇳🇪Burkina Faso, Mali & Niger Launch Their Own Regional Investment Bank

Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger have officially launched the Confederal Bank for Investment and Development (BCID-AES), marking a major step toward greater economic independence under the Alliance of Sahel States (AES).

The new bank will begin with an initial capital of 500 billion CFA francs (approximately US$895 million) and is expected to finance key projects in infrastructure, agriculture, energy, and industrial development across the three nations. (Africa News Agency)

The move is widely seen as part of the Sahel alliance’s broader push to strengthen regional economic cooperation and reduce dependence on external financial institutions.

Important: Despite claims circulating online, this is not a new central bank, and the three countries have not introduced a new currency. They continue to use the CFA franc while pursuing deeper economic integration. (Africa News Agency)

In 1866, during the violent years after the Civil War, Rhoda Ann Childs was alone at her home in Georgia when a group of white men came looking for her husband.

Instead, they abducted her and brutally assaulted her.

Rhoda did what many victims were discouraged from doing she reported the crime.

Instead of receiving justice, local authorities refused to arrest the accused. According to historical accounts, she was then jailed after seeking legal action.

Her story is a reminder that, for many Black Americans during Reconstruction, the legal system often failed to protect victims or hold perpetrators accountable.

Some of history's darkest chapters aren't remembered because they were forgotten they're remembered because people refused to let them be erased.
