We held him captive and killed him after we failed to secure the ransom, says isee on friday

According to Punch, The Rivers State Police Command has arrested five suspected cultists in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Rowland Horsfall, who was killed after being accused of generating a fake alert for hard drugs he purchased from them in Port Harcourt. The suspects, members of the Iceland cult group, also extorted ransom from Horsfall's mother, even after his death.

Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the Rivers State Police Command, confirmed the arrests and provided details in a statement on Tuesday. She revealed that the suspects had initially demanded a ransom of N2.5 million from Horsfall’s mother. Unknowingly, she transferred N300,000 to her son’s account, believing it was a legitimate request for his release. However, she later discovered her son had already been killed.

The situation began on September 10, 2024, when Horsfall left his home in Peace Valley Estate, Woji, to attend meetings in Port Harcourt. Later that evening, he contacted his mother to inform her he was heading home. The next morning, however, Horsfall called his mother again, claiming he was being held hostage and demanded N300,000 to get his phone back. The ransom demand quickly escalated to N2.5 million, accompanied by threatening images and voice notes sent to his girlfriend, warning of his imminent death if the ransom was not paid.

Iringe-Koko shared the chilling details, stating, "They sent threatening pictures and voice notes to the victim’s girlfriend, warning that Horsfall would be killed if the ransom wasn’t paid promptly."

Despite paying the initial N300,000, Horsfall remained in captivity, and the suspects ultimately beat him to death. His body was dumped along Queens/Kings Bakery, Abuloma Road, Port Harcourt.

Following the mother's complaint, police launched an investigation and arrested the prime suspect, Endurance Friday Thompson, in Woji Town on November 3, 2024. During questioning, Thompson confessed to the crime and revealed that he and his accomplices had held Horsfall hostage, killed him after failing to secure the full ransom, and disposed of his body.

Thompson stated, "We held him captive and killed him after we failed to secure the ransom. We then dumped his body."

The other arrested suspects include Boma Otonye (41), also known as Excess Chief, David Link Ishaku (34), known as Biggy, Moses Nsikak Benjamin (29), also called Aboy, and Emmanuel Aniete (32). All five suspects have confessed to their involvement in the crime, and efforts are underway to capture other members of the gang who are still on the run.

I Took the Last Flight to Lagos, We Drove to the Place, and I Saw Her lifeless body
In a heartbreaking interview with TVC News, the Assistant Director of Pharmacy at the National Industrial Court shared his grief over the tragic death of his 2-year-old daughter. On January 15, a call from his wife turned their once-happy life into a nightmare.

He recounted how he rushed to Lagos, taking the last flight available, only to face the unimaginable. "We drove to the place, and I saw the lifeless body of my daughter," he said, his voice heavy with emotion.

According to him, the tragedy happened at his daughter’s school. The school’s proprietor claimed that a teacher locked the girl in her classroom, but she somehow ended up drowning in the school’s swimming pool.

The details of the incident are confusing. A nanny reportedly took the girl to clean her up but said the child returned to class on her own, locking the door behind her. The teacher said she hadn’t seen the girl since then and only heard about the drowning later.

Adding to the family's pain, the school's CCTV cameras covering the swimming pool and playground were not working, leaving the events leading to the drowning unclear.

"We prayed for years before we had her," the father said, describing his daughter as a happy, beautiful, and intelligent child. "I want them to tell me the truth about what killed my daughter."

He expressed hope that the police and judiciary would uncover the truth and bring justice for his little girl, whose life was tragically cut short.

Nigerian professional footballer Victor Boniface has reportedly ended his four-year relationship with his Norwegian girlfriend, Rikke Hermine, following disagreements over marriage terms.

According to sources close to the couple, the primary point of contention was Hermine’s insistence on a legal marriage without a prenuptial agreement.

A prenuptial agreement, commonly known as a prenup, is a legally binding contract that outlines the ownership of assets and finances in the event of divorce or death. Reports suggest that Boniface was unwilling to proceed without such an agreement, citing the need to safeguard his financial future and avoid potential legal or financial challenges down the line.

At just 23 years old, Boniface has risen to prominence in European football, securing a lucrative contract with Bayer Leverkusen in Germany. As his career continues to soar, so does his financial worth, which many speculate influenced his stance on the matter.

Sources close to Boniface revealed that the footballer is taking a more cautious approach to his personal life, particularly regarding commitments that could impact his wealth. “Victor values his career and has worked hard to get to where he is. He’s being prudent to ensure his future remains secure,” said a source familiar with the situation.
