SUSPENSION OF JCC CHAIRMAN AND DISSOLUTION OF NANS ICPC NASARAWA STATE

The Senate Secretariat writes to inform the general public that sequel to the powers vested on me, by the NANS Constitution Article 8 sub-section 3, I here by suspend the Chairman and also the entire NANS ICPC Nasarawa State. This is following your Suspension by the Executives of the JCC for gross misconduct as signed by the Secretary General with the support of 2/3rd of the State Executives. Again you in turn suspended the Secretary General and the ASG, which you have no power to that unilaterally.

2. To enable the NANS JCC Family in Nasarawa not to continue in this shameful act of bring disrespute to the organization and to put a stop to the holding of two (2) separate conventions in Lafia and Akwanga by two (2) different ICPC, all suspension is with immediate effect, hence, the NANS Senate Secretariat has directed the Senate Clerk to meet with all Parties in the State in a bid to resolve all issues and report to the Senate Secretariat in One(1) week, also report has it that genuine students were screened out of the process of election, which will also be looked into by the Secretariat.

3. We urge all Stakeholders, Sug Presidents and Students Community to remain Calm.

THE NANS 2025 INAUGURATION PLANNING COMMITTEE FOR THE NEWLY ELECTED NATIONAL EXECUTIVE OF THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS (NANS)

In line with our commitment to ensuring a smooth transition and a befitting inauguration ceremony for the newly elected National Executive of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), I am pleased to announce the constituted list of the NANS Inauguration Planning Committee (IPC).

This committee is saddled with the responsibility of organizing a well-structured and dignified inauguration event within 30 days from the date of this announcement, ensuring that the process reflects the values, unity, and strength of Nigerian students nationwide.

TERMS OF REFERENCE
1. Planning and Ex*****on. The committee shall develop and implement a detailed plan for a befitting inauguration ceremony within the stipulated timeframe.

2. Budgeting and Fundraising.
Propose a budget and explore necessary funding sources while ensuring accountability and transparency.

3. Venue and Logistics
Identify a suitable venue and make necessary arrangements for security, media coverage, and logistics.

4. Protocol and Invitations. Ensure invitations are extended to key stakeholders, including government representatives, student leaders, and relevant dignitaries.

5. Publicity and Awareness.
Create awareness about the inauguration through traditional and digital media channels to enhance participation and visibility.

6. Liaison with National Leadership.
The committee shall periodically liaise with the NANS National Leadership for approval and other necessary actions at every stage of the planning and ex*****on process.

7. General Coordination. Oversee all necessary activities to guarantee a hitch-free and successful event.

The committee members are hereby directed to commence work immediately and ensure full compliance with the outlined responsibilities. Find bellow the official list of committee members.

We urge all stakeholders to support this committee in delivering a historic and well-coordinated inauguration for the progress of our dear association.

Advancing Student Welfare: NANS Leadership Meets University of Abuja Management for Strategic Collaboration

The National President of NANS, Comrade Olushola Oladoja, alongside his executives, paid a courtesy visit to the Acting Vice-Chancellor of the University of Abuja.

During the meeting, Com. Oladoja introduced his executives and extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Acting VC on her well-deserved appointment. He also used the opportunity to advocate for the allocation of a Secretariat for the Students’ Union Government (SUG), emphasizing the need for a dedicated space to enhance student representation and engagement.

In response, the Acting VC warmly congratulated the NANS President on his election and commended his proactive leadership. She assured the delegation that the request for the SUG Secretariat would be given due consideration, reaffirming the university’s commitment to student welfare and inclusivity.

This meeting underscores the importance of collaborative engagement between student leadership and university management in fostering a progressive and student-friendly academic environment.

Bridging Media and Student Leadership: NANS President Visits NTA DG, Engages for Strategic Partnership

The National President of NANS, Com. Oladoja Olushola , paid a courtesy visit to the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) alongside his executives. The visit aimed to strengthen collaboration on student welfare, educational programs, and national development.

During the meeting, Com. Oladoja expressed gratitude to the DG and NTA management for their support during the NANS National Convention. In response, the DG warmly welcomed the delegation, assuring them of NTA’s continuous support and guidance to ensure the administration’s success.

The NANS President HE Oladoja Olushola GCNS paid an introductory visit to the Minister of Interior at his office in Abuja. The President used the opportunity to interact with the Honorable Minister on how NANS will work with the Ministry for the betterment of Nigerian students. The Minister assured his full support to the newly elected executives and wished to work hand-in-hand to achieve his ministry's agenda.

Earlier, the immediate past Senate President Akinteye Babtee Babatunde took the opportunity to thank the Minister for his support during his tenure in office and requested the same level of support for the present executives. *NANS PRESIDENT HOME COMING: Fostering Unity, Progress, and Student Engagements*

The National Headquarters of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), led by its President, Comrade Olushola Oladoja, paid a courtesy visit to the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Jos, Prof. Tanko Ishaya. The institution, which serves as the NANS National Secretariat, warmly welcomed the delegation as they expressed appreciation for the university’s unwavering support during the election period.

Before the formal engagements, students of the zone, alongside key stakeholders, organized a "Welcome Back Home" event to celebrate the NANS President, marking his return with enthusiasm and solidarity. Following this, the delegation proceeded to the Dean of Student Affairs for further discussions before heading to the Vice-Chancellor’s office.

The discussions focused on strengthening collaboration between students and university management. In his response, Prof. Tanko Ishaya reaffirmed his commitment to supporting the NANS administration, pledging to foster a stronger partnership to advance student welfare, engagement, and academic excellence.

This visit underscores the importance of dialogue, unity, and collective progress in ensuring that Nigerian students have a voice and a seat at the table in matters concerning their education and well-being.
