The Idoma speaking people of Benue State traditionally share boundaries with communities in present-day Enugu, Kogi, and Ebonyi States. These neighboring communities have long-standing historical, cultural, and economic relationships with the Idoma people. They are not traditional Fulani boundary communities.

This raises an important question: Why are attacks involving armed assailants so often described as "communal clashes"?

Traditionally, a communal clash refers to a conflict between neighboring communities over issues such as land, boundaries, or other local disputes. If an attack does not fit that description, it is important that it is reported according to the verified facts rather than being given a label that may not accurately reflect what happened.

Using accurate language is not about politics or assigning blame. It is about preserving historical truth, ensuring the public understands the nature of the violence, and helping authorities respond appropriately. The people of Otukpo deserve clear facts, justice for the victims, and lasting peace.

Nigeria is one of the few countries where reality often feels stranger than fiction. Every day, citizens wake up to situations that would confuse even the smartest minds. Policies change overnight, promises disappear after elections, and hardship somehow keeps increasing in a nation blessed with massive resources.

In Nigeria, fuel prices can rise today and transport fares will double before tomorrow morning. A graduate can spend years searching for a job while politicians continue to celebrate “economic progress.” Roads remain bad, electricity stays unstable, yet citizens are constantly told that things are improving.

The funny part is that Nigerians have learned to survive almost everything. We laugh through pain, turn suffering into jokes, and create happiness in difficult situations. It is both admirable and heartbreaking.

Sometimes, trying to explain Nigeria logically can make a person question their own understanding of life.

How can a country so rich still struggle with basic necessities? How can citizens work so hard and still find survival difficult? How can corruption become so common that people begin to see it as normal?

That is why many people say: “If someone explains Nigeria to you and you fully understand it, then your brain needs to be tested to confirm you are normal.”

Nigeria is a country of endless contradictions. It can frustrate you in the morning and make you proud in the evening. It can break your heart and still give you hope at the same time.

Yet despite everything, Nigerians continue to push forward with strength, creativity, and resilience.

Maybe that is the true miracle of Nigeria, not the system, but the people surviving inside it.

INEC Appeals Court Ruling on 2027 Election Timetable

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), through its lawyer, Alex Iziyon (SAN), has approached the Court of Appeal in Abuja to challenge the Federal High Court's decision nullifying the timetable it issued for the 2027 general elections.

In its Notice of Appeal, which contains nine grounds, INEC argues that the Federal High Court lacked the authority to set aside its election timetable.

The Commission is asking the appellate court to overturn Justice Umar’s judgment, strike out the suit filed by the Youth Party for lack of jurisdiction, and grant any other relief it deems appropriate.
