SDP/ADC North-West Leader, Mallam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai, Meets Key Stakeholders in Kaduna State to Strengthen Coalition and Strategize for Upcoming Elections
In a significant stride toward deepening political unity and strategic alignment, the North-West Leader of the SDP/ADC coalition, Mallam Nasir Ahmed El-Rufai, convened a high-level meeting with key stakeholders of the coalition parties in Kaduna State on Saturday, July 5th, 2025.
The closed-door session, held in Kaduna, brought together an influential gathering of trusted political figures and party stalwarts, including:
Mallam Bashir Saidu, former Chief of Staff and Commissioner of Finance,
Mallam Ja’afar Sani, former Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs,
Hon. Hafsat Baba, former Commissioner for Women Affairs,
Mallam Suleiman Ibrahim, former Commissioner for Education,
Hon. Hafix Bayero former commissioner Market Development Kaduna State.
As well as the full complement of SDP/ADC Kaduna State Management Committee Members.
During the meeting, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai delivered a passionate and insightful briefing on the progress made so far in cementing the success of the SDP/ADC coalition, noting that “the coalition stands as a beacon of renewed hope and inclusive governance for the North-West and Nigeria at large.” He emphasized that the unity between the two parties is not only gaining momentum but also earning the confidence of the electorate across key constituencies.
A central point of discussion was the ongoing consolidation of the ADC party structure across Kaduna State to ensure effective grassroots coordination and mobilization. The leader called for unity of purpose and unwavering commitment to the ideals of the coalition, underscoring that “our strength lies in our shared vision and the ability to work together with clarity, purpose, and humility.”
Strategic deliberations were also held concerning the forthcoming August 2025 bye-elections in Basawa (Zaria Constituency) and Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency. Stakeholders evaluated tactical approaches, candidate readiness, and voter engagement strategies. The forum reaffirmed the coalition’s resolve to present credible, competent, and community-rooted candidates capable of delivering transformative representation.
In her remarks, Hon. Hafsat Baba highlighted the importance of inclusive governance, while Mallam Ja’afar Sani stressed the need to reconnect with traditional institutions and local government structures. Mallam Suleiman Ibrahim echoed the coalition’s commitment to prioritizing education and youth empowerment in policy agendas.
Mallam Bashir Saidu, reflecting on the coalition’s trajectory, commended the leadership of Mallam El-Rufai for his strategic foresight and unwavering dedication to progressive politics.
The meeting ended on a high note, with all participants expressing optimism and renewed energy to mobilize supporters and uphold the coalition’s integrity and mission.
