BEFORE YOUR WORDS LEAVE YOUR MOUTH, ASK: “WHAT WILL THEY PRODUCE?”

📖 Proverbs 15:1.

“A soft answer turneth away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.”

Words are small, but their consequences can be enormous.

One sentence can encourage someone.

One sentence can destroy someone's confidence.

One sentence can calm an argument.

Another can turn a small disagreement into a serious conflict.

That is why a Christian must learn to control not only what he says, but how he says it.

Ask yourself:

When you are angry, what comes out of your mouth?

When someone disappoints you, do you respond with wisdom or revenge?

When you disagree, do you seek understanding or humiliation?

Sometimes we say:

“I was only telling the truth.”

But truth does not give us permission to be unnecessarily cruel.

You can correct someone without insulting them.

You can disagree without disrespecting them.

You can be firm without being abusive.

The proverb says:

“Words are like arrows; once released, they cannot be called back.”

Before you speak, pause.

Is it true?

Is it necessary?

Is it helpful?

Is it respectful?

Will it bring peace or unnecessarily create conflict?

And remember, silence can sometimes be wiser than winning an argument.

Your tongue can become an instrument of healing or an instrument of destruction.

Choose carefully.

Let your words reflect wisdom.

Let your speech show self-control.

Let people hear truth from you without being unnecessarily wounded by your manner.

CAN YOU HANDLE THE TRUTH ABOUT YOURSELF WITHOUT GETTING ANGRY?

Sometimes, the correction we dislike is the lesson we need.

When someone gives you honest feedback, don't immediately become defensive.

Pause.

Listen.

Think about it.

Not every criticism is correct, but not every criticism should be ignored either.

The mature person doesn't automatically accept every opinion or reject every correction.

They examine it, learn from it, and improve where necessary.

Feedback is not always an attack. Sometimes, it is a mirror showing you what you couldn't see yourself.

WHEN YOU PRAY, ARE YOU ONLY ASKING GOD TO CHANGE YOUR SITUATION?

📖 Philippians 4:6

“But in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”

Prayer is one of the greatest privileges of a believer.

Yet sometimes we treat prayer like an emergency button:

“God, fix this.”

“God, give me that.”

“God, change this situation.”

But prayer can be much deeper than asking for things.

Prayer brings our hearts into honest conversation with God.

When we pray, we can bring our fears, questions, gratitude, needs, weaknesses, and hopes before Him.

But here's something worth considering:

What if sometimes the answer God wants to work on first is not the situation around you, but the person within you?

Perhaps you are asking God for patience while refusing to practice patience.

Perhaps you are asking for wisdom while ignoring His Word.

Perhaps you are asking for peace while continually feeding your heart with anxiety.

Perhaps you are asking God to guide your life while refusing to follow His instructions.

Prayer should not become an excuse to avoid obedience.

We pray, but we must also listen.

We ask, but we must also obey.

We seek God's help, but we must also seek God's will.

“Prayer is not merely asking for God's hand; it is seeking God's heart.”

So before you finish your next prayer, ask yourself:

“Am I willing to do what God is teaching me to do?”

Bring your burdens to God.

Give thanks.

Seek wisdom.

Search His Word.

And allow prayer to shape your attitude, strengthen your faith, and draw you closer to Him.

Because sometimes the greatest transformation begins inside the person who is praying.
