As a school counsellor, I've had different students describe their week to me the same way: "I'm fine.", everything on the surface looking okay.

Then you will see their schoolwork or assignments left undone, or done and then erased and started over three times because "it wasn't good enough."

That's the tricky part about low self-worth in children. It rarely announces itself. It hides behind "I'm fine," behind good behavior, behind a child trying extra hard to not be a problem.
"I don't want anybody to say I'm bad".

HERE ARE 4 SIGNS YOUR CHILD IS STRUGGLING WITH SELF-WORTH (AND WHAT TO DO ABOUT EACH ONE):

My son is sixteen now. But this conversation started long before he turned sixteen, we were already talking about friendships, 'crushes', about what he should look out for in people.

In my house, we never made "crush talk" a big deal. It's just part of our everyday conversation, over meals, in the car with his dad, on a random outing.

Because it was never treated as shameful, he never felt the need to hide it from us.

Infact, he's stricter with it than we expect because of the values we have built in him over the years about pursuing his purpose and prioritising needs.

There was a girl he reads with at school, they studied together, and honestly, being around her actually improved his reading.

He liked what their friendship brought out in him. Today, he's the head boy of his school. And has lots of friends and people to lead.

Here's the part most parents don't talk about: as teenagers grow, they start experiencing real physical and emotional attraction and most of them have absolutely no one to talk to about it.

Not because they don't want guidance. But because nobody ever opened that door for them.

My husband and I made a decision early, we were never going to pretend these feelings don't exist, and we were never going to shame him for having them.

Instead, we told him plainly: these feelings are normal at your age, but this is not the season for acting on them. So let's talk about how to manage them in a healthy way instead.

Here's what's helped in our home:

4 WAYS TO HELP YOUR TEENAGE SON MANAGE FEELINGS HE CAN'T TALK TO EVERYONE ABOUT.

My thirteen year old daughter has been having crushes around her lately, one guy here, another guy there, all trying their luck.

African Parents, hold on βœ‹. This things happen except they are hiding it from you.

I know this because my daughter tells me. Not because I sat her down and interrogated her, but because in my house, we talk about these things over vegetables. πŸ˜ƒ

Some of our best conversations happen while we're picking vegetables together, making pancakes, or stirring a pot of soup.

That's when I casually ask, "So who's toasting you in school these days?"

Or,

"What are your friends like, what do they like, what do they not like?"

No lecture. No stiff, serious tone. Just gist, the way you'd talk to a friend in the kitchen.

And that's exactly the point.

The moment it starts to feel like an interview, they shut down or try to hide.

But when it's just a normal conversation, woven into normal moments, they open up without even seeing it as a big deal.

This is what Chapter 6 of Untangled by Lisa Damour calls

"Entering the Romantic World",

the stage where romantic feelings show up for the first time, and most teens instinctively go private about it. They don't want to discuss it with anyone.

Not because something is wrong. Just because it feels personal, and they're testing what it's like to have a part of their life that is not automatically shared with mummy and daddy.

But here's what I've learned with my children and also as a teacher and a school counsellor, you don't get access to that private world by demanding it.

You get access by making yourself a safe, normal, non-judgmental part of the conversation long before the topic ever comes up.

Here's what's worked for me:

4 WAYS TO GET YOUR TEENAGER TO OPEN UP ABOUT CRUSHES AND RELATIONSHIPS πŸ‘‡

My daughter has literally said to me before, "Mummy, are you interviewing me?"
the second I sound too formal, too serious, like I'm building a case. They tend to shut down.

Learn to Create Scroll-Stopping AI Videos - Even If You've Never Touched an AI Tool Before

Everyone Is Talking About AI. Very Few People Are Actually Using It To Make Money.

AI LabX is the masterclass that hands you the exact free AI tools, to start creating professional videos today.

You've seen the videos. The ones that stop your scroll. Smooth transitions, realistic voiceovers, characters that look and sound like they were shot with a full film crew .

You've probably wondered: how are they doing this?

Maybe you assumed it takes technical skill you don't have. Or expensive software you can't afford. Or hours of editing you don't have time for.

None of that is true. And this masterclass exists to prove it to you.

Right now, you're watching everyone else get ahead , the creators, the marketers, the small business owners , while you're still stuck doing things the slow way.

Recording, re-recording. Editing for hours. Hiring people you can't really afford, or doing everything yourself and burning out.

Meanwhile, AI has quietly changed the game. The people creating content faster, cheaper, and better than you aren't more talented. They're not more creative. They just know the tools , and they know how to use them.

Every day you wait to learn this is a day someone else takes the audience, the client, or the opportunity that could have been yours.

AI LabX is a hands-on masterclass that teaches you, step by step, how to create professional-quality videos using AI β€” no filming, no studio, no editing background required.

You'll learn the exact tools and workflows used to produce high-quality content quickly: from generating realistic visuals and voiceovers, to building consistent characters you can reuse across videos, to automating parts of the process so you're not starting from scratch every time.

And to make sure you can start immediately, not "someday", you'll get access to free tools to begin creating your own videos from day one of the class.

You stop feeling behind , because you finally understand the tools everyone else has been quietly using.

You create content in a fraction of the time , no more hours lost to filming and re-filming

You look professional without a professional budget , no camera crew, no studio, no expensive software required.

You gain a skill that pays, content creation, social media management, and video production are all in demand right now

You stop guessing, you get a clear, repeatable process instead of trial and error

You start today, not someday, free tools mean no barrier between learning and doing

What's Included

Step-by-step training on the AI tools used to create realistic videos, visuals, and voiceovers

Free tools provided so you can start creating immediately

A repeatable workflow you can use again and again for future content

Guidance from someone who has walked this exact path and uses these tools in her own business

Why You Need This Now

AI content creation is not a trend that's coming , it's already here, and the gap between people who know how to use it and people who don't is widening every single week.

You don't need to be "techy." You don't need expensive equipment. You don't need to wait until you feel "ready." You need the right tools, placed in your hands, with someone showing you exactly how to use them.

That's what AI LabX is built to do for you.

Stop watching other people create with AI. Start being one of them.

Join AI LabX today and get your free tools to start creating your first AI video this week.
