Rock Blasting in Engineering
Rock blasting is a controlled method used in civil engineering to fragment hard rock for excavation, road construction, foundations, and quarrying.

The process begins with drilling, where boreholes are created in a designed pattern and depth to achieve the required fragmentation and slope stability.

Explosives such as dynamite are then carefully loaded into the drilled holes.
A blasting cord (detonating cord) is used to connect the charges and ensure synchronized detonation. When initiated, the explosives release high-pressure energy that fractures and displaces the rock in a controlled manner.

Note: Proper blast design, stemming, timing, and safety measures are essential to minimize vibration, fly rock, and environmental impact while achieving efficient rock breakage.

An arc culvert is a hydraulic structure constructed with a curved (arched) superstructure designed to convey stormwater, surface runoff, or small watercourses beneath embankments such as roads or railways. It functions primarily through compressive arch action, transferring loads from the overburden and traffic to the abutments and foundation.

When I first started working on-site, I remember one senior colleaque shouting at me:
"Just finish the work, we don't have that much time!"

In construction, this is sadly common.

A Senior engineer/ supervisor pressurize you to finish work faster Ignoring safety, quality, and long-term consequences. But here's the truth:

Shortcuts may save hours today but they'll cost you days, money, and reputation tomorrow.

Over time I've learned:

True success in construction lies in getting it right - not just getting it done.

As a young graduate in the construction profession, your first task is not to rush for flashy money that will not last. Don't be so desperate to earn a very low salary.
Let your main concern be how to understand the practical construction process and the business aspect of it because the two are not the same. Understand good quality reconstruction practical process skills that will make you valuable.
You will be better off when you first seek value over a fatality in the long run. Some people have rejected a fat salary banking job to embrace a 25,000 all-inclusive salary as a site engineer during their early days of graduation.
You can trust that the best place you can get all that is required of you to be great in this profession is the construction site, get your hands dirty at first or your hands will not be dirty again in the long run.
If you allow yourself to wander in this profession without adequate practical experience, you are a goner. You have limited the opportunities around you to zero or minus 1.
What you need at first are useful skills, not how to hammer at first and impress your peers.
The little money you need at first is mostly for feeding, transportation, and attending practical training. Learn relevant software and enrol in professional courses.
Try to delay gratification as long as possible, stay humble, and still maintain good relationships with your parents by staying with them.
If you later find an opportunity to learn the real construction practical process in design and construction parts, try to discipline yourself not to be involved in petty arguments. Don't join them to drag someone so valuable to you. Let your goal be intact.
Let all your focus be on the task of learning discipline your mind from scheming about irrelevant things and always be available to put whatever you learn into practice.
At the end of it all, you will be far better than your mentor.
The money will be pursuing you around because of the too much value you carry.
