The funniest group of people since this Iran issue began are those who refuse to see it outside of a religious box. Why can't you think?
Understanding the world beyond religion is exactly what has helped the Iranian regime survive until now.
​The events unfolding in the Middle East today explain this clearly. I am not here to tell you I support Iran, the US, or Israel; rather, I am here to challenge your shallow thinking.
​After US bases in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were used to attack Iran, the Iranians understood that their enemy is not just the USA or Israel, but anyone aiding in their destruction.
This simple rationale is why they responded by striking bases in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, the UAE, and others.
​If this were only about religion, these neighboring countries would not have aided in the attempted destruction of Iran.
If you think it’s purely because they are Shiites, remember that there are large populations of Shiites in other parts of the Middle East as well.
​This is about global power, regional control, and survival. The Iranians understand this and think strategically.
For their survival, they feel they need nuclear capabilities, while the US and Israel are determined to prevent that.
It is as simple as that. While there are other variables at play, these are the primary drivers. So, think beyond religion and start thinking critically.
Religion is often the garb that geopolitics wears to recruit the masses, but at the high table of power, the only holy book being read is the manual of National Interest.
​When missiles fly, they do not ask for the denomination of the person they hit; they seek to dismantle the infrastructure of an opponent.
To view a conflict involving nuclear enrichment and regional hegemony through the narrow lens of "Sunni vs. Shia" is to fall for the very trap the politicians set for the unthinking.
​Power does not pray; it calculates.
