Presidency threatens legal action against VDM over AI-generated Tinubu audio

The Presidency has vowed to prosecute social media critic Martins Vincent Otse (popularly known as Verydarkma VDM) for allegedly sharing fake audio of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
A post by X user showed that an AI generated audio of the President was played in VDM’s video.
The audio captured Tinubu’s voice, saying that the insecurity in Nigeria would continue because of Nigerians reluctance to vote for him in 2023.
But in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the Presidency called for legal action against the social media influencer.
The statement accused VDM of circulating the alleged fake audio purportedly linked to the President.
Onanuga insisted that spreading false content on social media amounts to a serious abuse of digital platforms.
The President spokesman gave the hint in a post on X while reacting to controversy surrounding the audio recording circulating online and allegedly attributed to President Tinubu.
The statement reads: “This VDM needs to face the weight of the law for being the conveyor and disseminator of a fake audio of President Tinubu. This is a clear case of an egregious abuse of the social media platform.”

Losing APC Primary Won’t Stop My Support For Tinubu — Cubana Chiefpriest

Popular socialite Pascal Okechukwu, known as Cubana Chiefpriest, has opened up about where his loyalty lies ahead of the 2027 general elections, following his recent loss in the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary elections.
Speaking during a recent interview on Beat FM, the celebrity barman strongly defended his decision to keep supporting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, despite the outcome of the primaries.
Account to Cubana Chiefpriest, his loyalty remains unchanged because of how people from the Yoruba tribe have positively impacted his life and business over the years.
He stated that the support he received from the region in the past played a major role in his success, making it necessary for him to stand by the current administration.
“My loyalty lies with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 elections. Many Yoruba people have touched my life positively, and I cannot forget them. My loss at the APC primaries does not change where I stand,” he said.

BREAKING: Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has emerged as the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress for the 2027 general elections after a landslide victory in the party’s nationwide direct primaries.
Atiku defeated his closest challengers, former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi and economist Mohammed Hayatu-Deem, by a massive margin.
The party convention chairman, David Mark, officially announced the result on Wednesday at the Transcorp Hilton Abuja and presented the party flag to Atiku.
According to the final results, Atiku dominated major northern states including Adamawa, Kano, Niger, Kebbi, Sokoto, and Zamfara, while also recording strong victories in southern states such as Edo, Imo, Anambra, and Ekiti.
Amaechi reportedly won only Akwa Ibom and Ebonyi states.
However, the primary election has already sparked serious controversy within the party. Amaechi and Hayatu-Deen both rejected the outcome even before the final announcement, alleging voter suppression, manipulation, and irregularities.
Despite the backlash, Atiku described the exercise as “a victory for democracy” and called on all party members to unite behind him ahead of the battle for A*o Rock in 2027.
