Justice D. I. Dipeolu of the Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, on Friday, June 5, 2026, adjourned ruling on the bail application of social media influencer Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, until Tuesday, June 9, 2026.

Blessing CEO is facing a two-count charge filed by the Lagos Zonal Directorate 1 of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The charges allege that she obtained money by false pretence and stole the sum of N36 million.
During the hearing, her counsel, P.I. Nwafuru, prayed the court to grant his client bail on the most liberal terms possible.

In opposition, EFCC counsel S.I. Suleiman urged the court to refuse the bail application. He informed the court that the Commission had filed a 28-paragraph counter-affidavit, deposed to by the investigating officer, Bufa Regina Okangbe, on May 29, 2026. Suleiman noted that the defendant had at some point stopped responding to the EFCC’s invitations during the investigation. He asked the court to order an accelerated hearing of the case instead of granting bail.

After hearing arguments from both sides, Justice Dipeolu reserved his ruling on the bail application for June 9, 2026.
Earlier in the proceedings, the prosecution called its first witness, EFCC investigator Bufa Regina Okangbe. She testified about bank transactions, property records, and witness statements which, according to her, showed that the defendant received N36 million from the petitioner for a property she did not own.
