BREAKING: President Tinubu Returns to Abuja After State Visit to Türkiye
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to the nation’s capital, Abuja, following a multi-day state visit to the Republic of Türkiye aimed at strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation between the two countries.
President Tinubu’s aircraft touched down at the Presidential Wing of the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Saturday night after engagements with Turkish leadership, including discussions on defence, energy, security, research and other strategic sectors.
The state visit saw the Nigeria Turkey partnership reinforced, with agreements and commitments aimed at boosting mutual cooperation on trade, investment, defence collaboration and other areas of shared interest.
In the days leading up to his return, there had been public attention and commentary around the President’s activities abroad, including questions about official communication and concerns over his wellbeing after a brief stumble during a welcome event in Ankara. The presidency dismissed those concerns, describing the incident as minor and affirming the President’s active engagement throughout the trip.
Upon his arrival in Abuja, President Tinubu is expected to resume his official duties, continuing to focus on both domestic priorities and Nigeria’s expanded international partnerships.
