Is rest ever possible?
A toddler finds it difficult to write and walk. But as he is exposed to the help of those who teach him to write and walk, he responds, and begins to do same to, with time.
Over that situation of his life, he has found rest.
You are at rest when you have gained mastery over certain situations of life.
Gaining mastery is continuous.
Naturally, there are many stages in life where you struggled, in the end, you gained mastery.
After the fall of man, the world was designed to bring difficulty in every area of life.
So there are systems and structures where men must labor before they can gain mastery and be productive in this world.
But the ultimate labor that a man finds himself in, is the labor of sin.
Sin causes death
Sin causes failure
Sin causes struggles
Sin is the source of all other labour
Sin is a stronghold to Rest
The system of sin has been built in such a way that _“by flesh shall no man prevail.”_
In your own strength, you will not prevail or find rest.
No matter how disciplined or determined one is, there can be no rest in one's will all alone.
Jesus says “Come unto Me, all you that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
There is a provision made under the Kingship of the Messiah, the Son of the Living God.
If you come to Him, He will give you rest.
The only way to mastery over sin, its works, and its consequences, is to bank on the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Approach the throne of grace.
Approach Him for rest.
Approach Him for mastery over the works of the devil, over the works of Satan, and over the sickness you may be experiencing.
Approach Him and receive rest.
Receive strength for rest today.
