EKITI 2026: Hon. Blessing Abegunde Purchases NNPP Governorship Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms
In a remarkable display of commitment and courage, Hon. Blessing Abegunde, a prominent youth leader and ambassador, officially purchased the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Expression of Interest and Nomination Forms to contest for the 2026 Governorship Election in Ekiti State.
The event took place today at the NNPP National Headquarters, Abuja, where Hon. Abegunde was warmly received by party officials, supporters, and well-wishers who came from far and near to witness the historic moment.
Speaking shortly after obtaining the forms, Hon. Abegunde expressed gratitude to the leadership of the NNPP for providing a platform where young, visionary, and passionate Nigerians can aspire to serve and lead their people.
He emphasized that his decision to join the governorship race was borne out of a strong desire to bring a new wave of transformation, transparency, and people-centered governance to Ekiti State.
> “I am not in this race for personal ambition, but to rebuild Ekiti with fresh ideas, youthful energy, and a heart for service. Our people deserve better education, better infrastructure, better opportunities and a government that truly listens,” he said.
Hon. Abegunde further called on the youths of Ekiti to rise and take responsibility for shaping their future, noting that “it is time for a new generation of leaders to emerge and restore hope to our people.”
The NNPP aspirant assured the people of Ekiti that his administration, if elected, would focus on job creation, agricultural development, quality education, healthcare reform, and digital innovation, while prioritizing transparency and accountability in governance.
The atmosphere at the NNPP Secretariat was filled with excitement and optimism, as supporters hailed Hon. Abegunde as “the face of a New Ekiti,” and chanted slogans of “Kwalate Ekiti! New Hope for the People!”

Speech by Hon. Blessing Abegunde, Governorship Aspirant of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Ekiti State, after Purchasing the Nomination and Expression of Interest Forms
> Distinguished leaders of our great party, loyal supporters, my brothers and sisters from Ekiti State, ladies and gentlemen good afternoon.
Today marks a new chapter not just in my political journey, but in the destiny of our dear state, Ekiti.
With a heart full of gratitude and humility, I stand before you to officially declare my intention to serve the people of Ekiti as Governor under the great banner of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).
I have come to serve with sincerity, to lead with vision, and to govern with compassion.
Our people have suffered neglect for too long. The youths are losing hope, our teachers are underappreciated, our farmers are struggling, and our economy is stagnant. But I say to you today there is hope again!
The NNPP represents that hope. Together, we will build an Ekiti that works for everyone an Ekiti where education, healthcare, and agriculture are not just promises, but realities.
I am running to restore integrity in governance, to empower our youths, to strengthen our institutions, and to make Ekiti a model of progress in Nigeria.
To my fellow youths, this is our time. Let us rise, unite, and take responsibility for the future we desire.
I thank the leadership of the NNPP for their in me, and to all my supporters and friends thank you for standing by me on this journey of transformation.
Together, we will make Ekiti great again.
